Nothing wrong with it.....if that's what you want but I would guess that most of these potential Brit owners have never seen a master or grand level dog work.

What most don't know is they could buy something out of a nice hunt test breeding for half that and have a better chance of getting a ...

I've always wondered why Wildrose don't take their dogs to UKC or ACK hunt test so people could see for themselves if they want one. I know some individuals with thier dogs do, but you never see the Wildrose truck at the HT's....

I can answer that, because that is not the game that Wildrose is ...

The way this is often setup out at Wildrose the clays are being fired from the laucher toward the handler and dog. The dogs learn very quickly to track the clay/follow the gun. Thay have to be steady to get the reward of a retrieve, often a bumper is thrown after 5 or 6 clays have been thrown and ...

Wildrose uses e-collars on a very limited basis and not as part of a pressure type of training regime. I train my dogs at Wildrose on a very regular basis. (daily)

The e-collar is used to reinforce sit to the whistle if they have a dog that is a runner, or refuses to sit to the whistle. They use ...

B3 has given about the most clear description of the Wildrose test that I have seen on any of the sites. I am mainly a lurker but have three Wildrose dogs. I don't do hunt tests, but will be running in the Wildrose test this year for fun. My dogs do what I want them to do, the two older dogs are in ...

The championship coincides with two training seminars that Wildrose holds every year. At that point in time Vic Barlow has been here and has been involved with it. Ya just gotta pick what's important to ya....if ya wanna try and beat a dog at the British style game ya gotta come to this one. At ...

I have a RHino and built a rack that goes over the top of it just like a ladder rack on a truck. I routinely carry several dozen decoys two hunters, a dog and all of the rest of our gear. I have carried three hunters on several occasions it's just a little more cramped. The only problem I ever had ...

I just got back from SD and some of the best Pheasant hunting I've ever been involved with. 20 minute limits. You will find like B3 said that most of the "local" dogs are not steady to the flush or shot. I kept my dog at heel the whole time. I did allow him to quarter while we were "cleaning up ...

Nothing says you can't shoot them over the fence....you just can't trespass to get them when they go down.....another reason for a trained retriever.

Do NOT give your dog Ibuprofen it will cause liver damage. You could try aspirin but in the long run the Rimadyl is your best bet. Expensive but well worth it.

The clay shoot simulates an english driven. THe test was set up with two sclay throwers and 3 bumper boys. The blinds were not really blinds but were marks that the handlers usually did not see because they were busy shooting. It is an excellent transition excercise for the dogs and handlers that ...
