CONGRATULATIONS TO HUNTERGIRLHOTTY

Postby JimAire » Sun Oct 28, 2007 9:18 pm

For winning the TOP GUN DOG AWARD at the Wildrose English Driven. The two day event consisted of all live birds being shot in front of the dogs. Some was over tall grass and some were in and across ponds. There were many fine dogs from at least eight states(from the car tags that I saw), but HGH running Moses never failed a retrieve in the entire event and picked a long extra point bird on Saturday while other competetors were cheering her on. Great running after spending two weeks in Canada duck hunting. Way to go girl...Good dog Moses.

test

Postby B3 » Mon Oct 29, 2007 8:05 am

No, what we've run in the past is a british working test format done every spring that did not use live game. I think the old "Wildrose Trial" is being retired? I don't know for sure. The thing this weekend sounded interesting and I would have liked to have seen it.

I think this was and event where you could pay "X" to enter as a "gun" and shoot tower birds for places, or pay "Y" to be a handler team and compete for places for shooting. I got an invite in the mail, but it conflicted with PHRC test.

Again, congrats to HGH.

Both shooters and handlers paid an entry fee to cover the cost of the birds, three meals and labor required to run the event. All guns had to be double or over and under, no larger than 16 guage. Birds used were pigeons, except for two "money birds" that were pheasants. The two winners of the money donated their winnings to the guys that did all the work setting up traps and hauling the birds. Dang good of them to do that.
The shooting looked to be so much fun, that I would have liked to have done that instead of handling. There were several awards given such as best English attire as well as most inappropriatley dressed(looking like a southern boy instead of the British look. I thought I could at least win that one, but Joe Dan beat me out of it :)

Wow, maybe she found her place! With a little more effort maybe she'd won the dog contest, and the fashion show. Always next year. Congrats to you, go team klumpi! travis

Ya'll back duck chaser next year, and I'll put spriggly in. He's the only man I know that can dress like a girl and make it macho chic. If they where both there, we'd surely get a 1,2 finish in the fashion show. travis
