Ive always said when my dog gets too old, I'll go win wildrose. Never hear about these things until they are over wif. Sumbody gimme a heads up on one of these gigs, and I'll try to make it sometime. Only time I ever found out before (ol drakeshead told me one time) it was the same time as a sfhrc test. travis

Travis,

I would have posted up about this event at Wildrose, but I have been out of pocket for over a month for some Army training. I'll keep you straight on the next Wildrose event.

I thought yall didn't like wildrose.

Hasn't that been the topic of some slaughtering from this site in the past ??

But on a good note - I had a blast !!!!!! Nothing like 50 pigeons landing on your dogs head and him just having to sit there and be the quietest and calmest dog. Then after approximately some time passes........and your dog just saw 15 birds get shot all over the place........that you have to send your dog for a specific bird !!!! It was fun ...... great training...... And if your competitive .......its a great game cause your neck to neck with 18 other dogs.

If you dog can't honor - better stay at home. Who wants to challenge the champ next year ....... bring it ON !!

I would just like to say .......ah em, Its nice to see a dog who did the work get the REWARD. It was Fair ......honest........ and shooting real birds and picking up real birds ......... What a TREAT !!!!!!!

Nothing like being gracious in victory.

I lot of folks said some nice things about you and your dog, and you come back and throw your usual chit in the faces of the same people?

I know where an orange bumper would fit nicely. Right in your mouth. :o

Easy cheesey. No reason if you got dog poop on yur feet to walk thru the house. It just stirs up the same ole stink and leaves a stain.

HGH, wildrose has been the subject of much debate & arguements here and everywhere else on the net. However, I don't think anyone here (with an educated opinion) can say they truely don't like wildrose. Its never been anyone but follwers that have stirred things up with the internet crowd. I have many friends like bill billups, marty newport, andre' fendelson, and ole drakeshead that have participated in their events before. Mike Stewart is a marketing genius, and he delivers what he promises. Never heard him promise anything but a healthy calm dog for the average joe who hunts and has no plans for anything but. In a business filled with folks who don't deliver what they promise, hard to fault a man who does, even if it aint my bag. Most folks just remember the blown up arguements when followers of his come on the net, and claim things that aren't true and can't be backed up. Very similar to the srs vrs field trial arugments circulating the net right now.

My boy sprig will RULE the fashion portion next year tho. I mean come on, ya'll have seen him in shorts and/or boxers... nobodoy can wear nickers like that man. BTW sprig, I got a big ole camo du mail pouch in the sat night raffle, just like dem brit guys wear (i think they carry their lunch in their, not sure cause when me and barlow asked them one time, they never answered, go figger) during the trial. I'll see if tj has some kakhi pants he outgrew, they ought be about nicker lenght on you, and we'll rule. travis

As a friend of Mike's with three of his Wildrose dogs, I agree with goosebruce in this one. But I ain't into the nickers, leaving that up to the ones of ya'll with more class. :)

The speed bag/mail pouch ain't much of a deal. The real test: if you ain't got the $400 "Le Chameu" green rubber boots, your just a sissy boy poser. :D

Peace out!

I don't have knickers or a use a bag, but a few years ago I got drunk and actually bought a pair of the le chameu's. Best 400 bucks I ever spent. They stay behind the front seat of my truck and get worn nearly every day.

WR

Postby B3 » Tue Nov 06, 2007 10:40 am

HGH,

Congratulations on your win. It sounds like it was a fun event and I would have liked to have been there but couldn't get away for 2 days. I would disagree about this site being the source of many negative comments about WR. As one who was involved in nearly every "controversy" revolving around WR, I am in a position to know and am well aware of where most of the slanderous talk came from. It was NOT from msducks.

Congratulations,

Bill

well being a late comer to the net..... I don't know what is what. Only what wildrose lovers......and wildrose questioners have said through the hoe hum in passing........ which is mostly mumbling ......under the breath comments over the past year. Makes it real hard to get the real story.

What I know is that Mike and Cathy Stewart are super great , nice .....people who care for sure about THE DOGS. And I agree with Goose's comments on dat situation.

What else I know is that there are many dog games. Many styles to training. Many different breed of dogs. And more than one way to skin a cat. And that most people arent' open minded to other games, training styles ....... ect.... ect... thus leading to competitiveness instead of supportive collaborative encouraging network ......

So, guess that's in a nut shell. Choose your game ......choose your weapon, I mean training program ........... and GET TO IT !!!!!!!

But I have to say = the best is having a versatile dog that can play it all and play it well ....... Moses had been around a bitch in heat and was wound up that weekend. Anybody know anything I could give him on a regular basis to get his testosterone up ??? Yall think Doe in heat would work ????
