+ a million

i bet there are tons of coaches shaking in their little shoes about "lying" to the NFL. A good hungry attorney could make this shatstorm into a real pay day.

u will never get me to believe this didn't happen at all of GW s other stops, much less in other organizations.

i saw where on linebacker tweeted that Shockey broke the "code" but ratting on them.

It was retired player Warren Sapp that accused Shockey. Saint's players have come out saying they seriously doubt that.

Most likely it was that Security guy that accused Coaches Payton and Vitt of stealing Vicoden. Saints fired him, he attempted to sue but had to drop the lawsuit.

It it doesn't fit, you must aquit. But if the shoe fits, then you must wear it. If you do the crime, then you must be able to do the time.

How's that for use of cliches? --- better than coachspeak.

But, I will say, the penalty does seem to be a biiiiiiiiit harsh for the crime here. Goodell is for sure trying to send a message, at the Saints' expense, that this will not be tolerated in the NFL. An even better message would be a full scale investigation into other NFL teams as well, with more balanced and appropriate fines and penalties. Picking out just one violator to really hammer is a lazy approach to solving the problem (has Goodell ever served on an NCAA infractions committee?).
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

and the troubles continue...

http://slumz.boxden.com/f16/outside-lin ... s-1740397/

NEW ORLEANS -- The U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Louisiana was told Friday that New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis had an electronic device in his Superdome suite that had been secretly re-wired to enable him to eavesdrop on visiting coaching staffs for nearly three NFL seasons, "Outside the Lines" has learned.

Sources familiar with Saints game-day operations told "Outside the Lines" that Loomis, who faces an eight-game suspension from the NFL for his role in the recent bounty scandal, had the ability to secretly listen for most of the 2002 season, his first as general manager of the Saints, and all of the 2003 and 2004 seasons. The sources spoke with "Outside the Lines" under the condition of anonymity because of fear of reprisals from members of the Saints organization.

Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher...
