Re: ...Throttlebody question...

Mass airflow sensor?

No MAF on the old TBI's. Didn't have them until the 96 Vortec's. If you have fuel into the injector pods, especially near the front of the pod between the injectors, I'd suspect the injectors themselves aren't firing. The wiring to the injectors can get old and brittle (being ...

Re: Waterfowling Vest???

I have the Drake version and like it a lot. It's the most helpful on timber hunts or anytime I can't have a blind bag nearby.

Re: Blown Transmission 68,000 Miles

I've never had a problem with changing the filter. It can get clogged and cause problems of its own. I don't ever flush mine, though. Just fluid and filter changes. That way you are just changing some of the fluid at a time. A 4L60e is normally on borrowed time somewhere in the 100k-150k range. GM's ...

NCIS and Top Gear (original British version) are two of my favorites. I try to catch Top Shot and Burn Notice as well.

Re: Who was trying to get aross the flooded creek?

That's at Sandhill ATV in Perkinston, near Wiggins. Danny will do that 5 or 6 times per day when he is out there. He's probably in his fifties also! He always tries to talk us into doing it with him, but that ain't my thing! It's a great place to go ride, whether you have a utility or sport bike ...

Re: Carfax Reports

Carfax is only as good as the information provided to it. If it was given information that was incorrect, it will report it incorrectly. If it was not notified of an accident, it will not have record of that accident. It is best used as a tool to tell if a car has a salvaged title or not. That ...

Re: hearing protection?

I use these for hunting and work, they are slim enough that they don't interfere with the stock and you can hear all of the conversation in the blind.

Re: make my gun shoot farther.

Catfisher, just to clarify, the barrel length is the distance from the actual muzzle to the face of the bolt, or where the back end of the shell rests just before you fire. The most accurate way is to have the gun unloaded, but have the chamber closed, as if you were going to fire it. Then run a ...

Re: Hearing protection

We use these Howard Leight muffs. They work great, can amplify your hearing a good bit, and then muffle loud sounds. I basically turn the muffs up to where I hear the same with or without them. After you have them on 4 hours or so, you'll want to pop them off for a break for a few, but they are ...

Over 200k on my 99 Tahoe as well. We've had several of these trucks. If you see one with over 150k and they haven't had the tranny rebuilt/replaced, get ready, it's going to go. The engines, however, are solid. We've had several over 200k.

Kahr CW9 or CW40. Nice and thin, and just big enough to get a full grip on it. My CW9 shoots quite well. I shoot it better than my full-sized XD40. I paid $399 for mine when it first came out. They may be a liitle higher now. Never had a hiccup out of it.

Another votte for Phil! He lives in Smithdale, works in McComb. It may take a bit to get it back, but it will definitely be worth the wait! I won't ever use anyone else!
