Well this is my first time to post on this sub forum, recognize the same ole faces though. As some of you might remember from my post in the General Section I am experiencing some financial hardships due to being in the real estate and mortgage business. To say it has taken a toll on my faith is an understatement. As this has all escelated, I drew further and further away from my faith. Sunday mornings saw me looking for every reason not to go to church.
For some reason about 2:15 this morning my 6 year old came into our room because she had heard "foot steps" and got scared. She hasn't woke up in the middle of the night in years. From that minute till about 5:00 this morning I laid there staring at the ceiling wondering what I am going to do, how I got here, what my friends were going to say if I have to file Bankruptcy, etc.
About 5:15, I started doing something I hadn't done in a while, praying! I told myself that I was going to get up and take everybody to church this morning. Well lo and behold, we set down, I open up the bulletin and what is the sermon on...... Stewardship of Money! First thing out of the preachers mouth was " Madison county has the highest per capita income in the state but I bet there are a people out there today wondering how they are going to pay their bills". My throat lumped up, eyes welled up with tears and for an hour I listened to my preacher tell me what I had been going through like he had been there the whole time.
So I guess I know who's footsteps those were last night and I guess I know where he was leading me... or toting me.

Amazing how it all comes to you when that happens. Years ago, I had been wrestling with the fact, all week, that I had not been baptized. I had gone to the Lord, in prayer, many times about it. The very next Sunday, at the end of the service, the preacher walked down the aisle, stopped at me, and asked if I had ever thought about turning my life over to Christ and becoming a member of the church. I had a feeling come over me that I'm sure you can relate with now. My answer to him was yes, I think I will. When it happens to you, all disbelief and doubt exits you, leaving you with a feeling that everything is going to work out!

Matador.. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.. They say God doesn't give you more than you can handle. Sometimes I think God over estimates my abilities..

Funny, how after that sermon yesterday everything seems OK. I look back at how hard I have tried keeping material things and I realize how selfish adn greedy that is. Bottom line is, I have my health, a family that loves me, and friends that don't care about my social status. A man can't ask for much more than that.

Matador, looks like you and I go to the same church!! That was a great sermon but then again most of his are. The Lord of all always knows what your troubles are and will see you through anything. I will pray that He will heal this situation for you.

God is good he has carred me throught problems in my life that i could have never done on my on. He is the only constant in our life and will never turn us away. Even if we stray he will take us back and love us as his child. Keep the holly sprit in your heart and spred it to all.
I was scard that if I missed church to go to a hunt test i would de punished. As it works out we are sent out to spred the word to those that may never understand till they see the joy and happnes we bring with us and give God the glorry.
