* Sept. Canada Goose season is closed on Roebuck Lake in Leflore county
**(Dove North Zone) Areas north of U.S. Hwy. 84 plus areas south of U.S. Hwy. 84 and west of MS Hwy. 35.
***(Dove South Zone) Areas south of U.S. Hwy. 84 and east of MS Hwy. 35.


Bag Limits:

Ducks - A total of 6 ducks, including no more than 4 mallards (no more than 2 of which may be females), 3 mottled ducks, 3 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 1 scaup, 1 black duck, and 1 pintail. Possession limit is twice the daily bag limit. Canvasback season is closed.

Mergansers - A total of 5, only 2 of which may be hooded mergansers. Possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

Coots - 15 daily. Possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

Light Goose Conservation Order Dates:

October 1, 2008 - November 14, 2008
January 26, 2009 - January 30, 2009
February 2, 2009 - March 31, 2009
Regulations

There is no daily bag limit or possession limit during the Conservation Order.
Snow, blue, and Ross' geese are the only birds legal for harvest.
A free permit number is required to hunt light geese during the Conservation Order.
Permit numbers are obtained by calling (601) 432 - 2199 (Monday through Friday 8 am to 5pm).
The use of electronic calling devices is allowed.
The use of unplugged shotguns is allowed.
Shooting hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
Hunters need a valid Mississippi hunting license.
Hunters are not required to have state or federal waterfowl stamps.
Hunters must use steel or other approved non-toxic shot shells.
