Fast Grass

Went out and moved some skid blinds around. Put fast grass on them last year and hated it at first. the stuff GLOWED and had to paint it to tone it down. Now after sitting out all year the stuff looks Awsome. It did not rot and looks better now than it did new. I know it's kind of expensive but it sure beats having to fool with net and burlap every year.

I used fastgrass last year and yes it did kinda glow. this year the stuff really looks natural also. But I did have six sacks of the stuff left over from last year that mildewed and rotted to mulch. Worked my butt off Sat. cutting grass to dress out blinds. If you have any left over it's best to keep it high and dry.

Thrasher you know that Avery advertises will not rot or mildew. They might make that stuff good.

Thrasher is right - it will mildew & ROT. If it ain't hanging on a blind you better keep it off the ground & dry. I bought some used that a friend had stacked on the ground & covered with a tarp. the bottom couple of sheets were no good, the next 3 or 4 did show mildew & slight damage.
If these had been stored better they would have been ok, but hey, he let me have the eight decent pieces pretty cheap

Just got my grass on. Looks real good, but we it got to the field it glowed. shot it with some paint, looks better. after 1 year of weathering i hope it will blend in.BEST stuff i hound yet.

We have used fastgrass on all of our skid blinds and, like ya'll are saying, it is fantastic! Two bits of advice though. Store it under a shed in the off-season tends to prolong its life for another few years. Also, use as many pull-ties as you can when you are putting it on the blinds. This will help keep it from blowing around and getting loose as well as allowing you to patch up the holes easier when it gets worn out. Avery says that it is suppose to last three to five years. I would say that it will last longer with proper care.

Thanks for the tips on storage as we bought some this year and have quite a bit left over. What did you fellas paint the new stuff with just plain ole brown?

I just moved some blinds this weekend and the crap was rotten and still was the brightest thing on the field. A buddy gave the stuff to me for free and I still wouldnt use it again. Ill continue to cover my blinds with old siene and stuff it with natural stuff.

a friend gave me some that was 2 years old, it have a few holes in it, but patched fine. it covered the blind perfect and blends great in the rice it's in...

Guys the stuff is awesome down here in the marsh, no questions asked. I love it, best thing since sliced bread or farts in a duck blind. Bought some new panels this year and in less than a week, 72 ducks have met their maker thanks to fast grass.
