Any Canadian Goose sightings???
Since the season starts Sept. 1st, I was just wondering if any have been seen. I saw 3 Saturday but they were pet geese.

Any Canadian Goose sightings???
Canadians are always at the Ross Barnett. Saw a few while teal scouting. If you hunt'em there make your shots count. They ain't hanging around after the steel flys.

No, GH22 all the ones I've seen are 'Mississippian' Geese. BWAAAAAAhahahaha
Heck, when I lived in Lake Charles, I grew-up hearin' folks call 'Canada Geese' Ringnecks....then, 'got to Mississippi and found out there's actually a duck called a 'ring-necked' duck (is that the correct terminologly, 'Ringbill'?) 'Didn't know what to call'em for a while....still don't!
We used to call scaup, Dos Gris, Blackjacks, Greaseballs, or Butterballs. 'Had to drop 'Butterball' when maw-maw said that was what we were havin' for Thanksgiving Dinner.....YUK!
'Didn't have any 'Rinked-neck ducks in the marsh and certainly not in the ricefield. I wouldn't have known WHAT to call'em other than 'Ringnecks', which then prompted me to start callin' Canada Geese, 'Honkers'. I give up!
'Guess it all depends on where you're from, Huh?

Yeah yeah yeah I set myself up for that one. But if we are getting specific, you are correct, Ring-necked ducks. And I will be happy to eat yours, I love 'em!
