Just opened the ole mail box and what did i see? A survey from Dr. Polles on duck hunting issues. Did anyone else get one?
The questions dealt with ranking recent year's success. (98-99,99-00,and00-01) Also asked what month i felt i was the most successful- Nov.,Dec., or Jan.
Mind you i'm a novice but i've had more success in January.

What are some of the other questions on it?
'Sounds like one of Benny's biased moto 'poles' only this one seems like a campaign for keeping the 'late'-season format with a question like "what month were you most successful"? DUH!
If yo answer was anything BUT January....'seems like the next question should be "did you even hunt in January?"
How many days did you hunt in each month?
What was your 'lost bird' (crippling) percentage during your LEAST successful month?
If you don't keep records, how would you remember 'which month' and better yet, would folks remember which year the season was open in November? The most recent season that was open in Nov only ran for 3 days. Who's gonna say that was their best, unless the didn't hunt Dec and Jan of the same year? Was your success based on how many ducks you killed or how few hunters you had to compete with on public land?
Do you hunt public or private lands?
Do you think that your success was due to a plentiful water supply or freezing temperatures, or both?
Did you have better success before or after January 20th and how many days did you hunt in both periods?

Well, it wasn't much of a survey. Actually i've sent it back already. As i recall there were four questions, the 2 i listed and then they ask me to rate the last 5 years in order of best success. So he asked to rate the last 3 years and then the last 5 years.
