I haven't heard any more mention of this lately, so I thought I would toss it back up to the front of the line. How about holding it at the gun club in Starkville on Saturday, Sept 22nd??
Just a thought.

Further thoughts on a fall get together?
The 6th of October would be much better for me and my crew. I will be trout (fly fishing) fishing on the 22nd of Sept. Let me know via email what you all decide. Also, if you need any help getting this together.....

Later is better for me, rather than September.

Looks like September isn't a good month for most everyone that has replied. I'm pretty booked the rest of the fall (from Oct on with football games) myself so I'll just have to wait until the 2002 summer shindig.

Sorry, Scott.....teal season will still be in, Sept 22. I'd much rather shoot the real thing as opposed to clays. 'Hope you and the boys can make it whenever we decide to have it. What team's schedule are you married to?

Hey Randy,
Ummm....married to a dawg schedule maybe? I'll be up in Kentucky (work) the weekend of Oct 6 and pretty much booked after that as well.
Jonathan and I are looking forward to coming over and shooting some clays with you and GH22 one weekend. If not this fall, then maybe in the spring as soon as the season is over. We can take in a couple of hours shooting and then a baseball game!
Scott
P.S. Do any of you guys perhaps tailgate somewhere?? Maybe some of us could meet that way one weekend this year? If only to say "hi" or something.

MAYBE IF YOU TRY A MORE CENTRAL LOCATION LIKE JACKSON , YOU'LL GET MORE RESPONSE. 2 GET TOGETHER'S AT THE SAME PLACE IS A STRETCH.

While I, too, would like to meet everyone on the board, getting more response is not necessarily the objective. Until someone offers (which invlolves procurring a facility, planning and organizing food and activities, etc) to hold a gathering somewhere else, Starkville will be where it's at on Oct 6th (or whatever date we decide to have it). 'Hope ya'll can make it!

October 6th sounds good, I'll be there unless a job headache crops up.

If you want this to be an MSducks gathering than it seems like getting responses from as many members as possible would be pretty important. I understand there is a lot of work that goes into these things and if I was more centrally located I would offer up a place. The Jackson area would be a great location FOR MOST EVERYONE. So, if anyone from that area can drum up anything lets do it.

I'll try to call the gun club tomorrow and see what's available and how much it costs. How much did Starkpatch cost?

This cookout/shoot is not 'billed' or associated with MSDucks.com. We're just having a get together for duck hunters and anybody else that's interested in shooting.
I agree, Jackson IS the most centrally located facility...go for it!
I didn't really convey my thoughts accurately, in the previous post. I should've said, getting a response is not an issue, instead of objective. 'Didn't mean to make it sound like I didn't care if folks could come or not. It's purely a matter of logistics....#1 being....a group of folks planning a gathering at Anywhere, MS. It's impossible to set-up something somewhere, on a date that everyone can be there. We found that out, when Millenium Mallard (St.John) first came-up with the idea. It was 6 months later, when we actually DID IT.....just unfortunate that MM (and a lot of others), couldn't be there.
You just have to find a spot and set a date. Those that can come, will be there. Those that can't (for whatever reasons), won't. I'll glad to help anyone else with a gathering...it ain't that hard.
I'll travel to another location, but I can't be there Oct 6th, 'cause I'll be holding a cookout/ shoot in Starkville, MS.
Cost of Starkville GC facilities.....$0.00.
Good Luck! Let me know if I can help.
