Is American Arms still in business?
If so do they have a web page?

GC,
Thanks but the number is disconnected?
I'm a thinking they went tits up or got bought out!
BTW-Went to a gun show this weekend and saw some crazy looking trap/skeet guns. That's something I've never tried and by looks of it it looks more expensive than duck hunting!!

I found this posted about American Arms on one of the sporting clay pages. I am not sure if it is totally correct or not:

****************
In a nutshell, they went belly up. Everything was sold to Tristar Sporting Arms (which is also in N. Kansas City, MO). Tristar is marketing some of the old guns or a similar version of them. A couple of months ago they sold all the parts from the old American Arms to Gun Parts Corporation in West Hurley, NY. If you need parts for an American Arms, GPC is the place to go, although it may take them a bit to find the right parts as most things are still in boxes waiting to be ID'd and inventoried.
Gun Parts Corporation
The World's LARGEST Supplier of Firearm Parts & Accessories. 226 Williams Lane, W.Hurley, NY 12491
Orders: (845)679-2417
Customer Service: (845)679-4867 http://www.e-gunparts.com/

Traditions is now the importer for the Italian made Fausti Stefano's. This is a nice gun for the money, but if you ever have problems, realize that service support is only an "out of business" sign away from you.

**************
That is about the best info I could locate.

GC,
Thanks for all the help.
I'm actaully looking for a s/s or o/u 12 guage that shoots 3.5" shells. I know AA made one but I don't know of anyone else.

Take Care,

I don't know if you have a specific brand preference, but Browning makes a citori satin hunter that shoots 2 3/4", 3", and 3 1/2" shells. I have one and have been very satisfied.

Beretta also makes several models of 3.5" O/U's.

Drake,
How is the gun to shoot with the 3.5s? Do you feel the durability is there? I know it's a browning so it should be a good gun but just would like yor thoughts.

GC,
I can't find a 3.5" Beretta on their web page, do you happen to know a model?

Thanks,

Damnyankee, the Beretta 686 Onyx O/U can be bought to shoot them all. That's what I got this past spring and I am really happy with it so far. Great gun, shoots like a dream, good patterns with the factory choke tubes. The only thing to consider is that it is heavier than the autos that shoot them all...has to be to alleviate the recoil. I love it on the clays course and can't wait for dove season. I tried Browning and Beretta, I just like the feel and look of the Beretta better. It has the low-gloss oil finish on the wood and matte finish on the metal.

I have a 686 Onyx that I like very much as well. Then again, I collect the old (silver) Beretta 682's, so I am kinda biased toward Beretta O/Us (other than the Essential and other knock offs. The real Beretta O/U line starts with the Onyx guns and goes up from there, IMHO).

Any O/U will RING YER BELL with a 3.5" shell. Thats about 47 or so foot pounds (can't find my chart) of free recoil mania, coming soon to a shoulder near you! Think of me dropping a 50 pound sack of fertilizer on your shoulder a few times

Thanks to all I found the Beretta, seems light to shoot 3.5" , must kick like hell!!
Now the new problem is I found a 10 guage o/u I really like as well!!
The only reason I'm leaning towards the 12 ga is I shoot an SBE right now(I don't want to hear it, gun has never given me a problem)
and I shoot 3.5"s so I may as well buy an o/u that can do the same.
I hate these decisions!

The browning citori satin hunter was made specifically for waterfowl hunting. She gives a little kick, I'll give you that. But as far as durability, I don't think you'd ever have a problem. It is pretty heavy, but it is weighted good. It feels sweet.

Drake,
Do they make that gun with synthetic stocks?
I hate the idea of spending that kind of money for such a pretty gun knowing it's going to get abused in the blind and boat.
