Mossy Oak HRC will host a training day Sat. Aug. 25 behind the Mossy Oak Outlett Mall in West Point, MS. Everyone is invited. Marty Newport of HighMark Kennels will be present to assist. We will try to get started early and beat the heat. Our next training day will be Sept. 15. Come see us.

Well Brian, how early is early? The last time you posted a 'training day' on this board, we met another handler and some of his friends there, at 5:30. We worked 5 dogs, twice, on land, then went to water and were done around 10:00. 'Had a great training session!

Same issues concerning the hunt test. You guys need to get some organization in the club. Lot of negative talk out there concerning the MO hunt test. Yall have the most recognizable name in the country and folks expect quite a bit more than they have been getting. You have one of the best raffles and always some good food but the rest of the weekend is very weak. Maybe Bobby Williams can help get things more organized.

Randy-First, concerning our last training day, I had a child sick and Marty had truck trouble and couldn't make the drive over. I apologize for not notifying you of my child's illness. I'm glad you had a good training day. Second, I apologize for Anne having to run her dog so late. I guarantee that she will be first if she is there on the 25th (don't forget to call me if you can't make it). Second, as for organization of our activities, I personally invite you to plan the next training day which is scheduled for Sept. 15th. Please let me know your plans and agenda, I will be glad to help if I can.

Chance (?)-Please be specific as to your problems with our hunt test. We are open to suggestions as we are all pretty new at this. We know where some our problems have been and have taken steps to remedy them. We have had lots of complements and constructive criticism from those who wish to be of some help. Bobby Williams has been a tremendous help to our club and I will let him know that you (whoever you are) think he needs to help more. By the way, for those interested, I do not work for Mossy Oak, I do this for the dogs and the company of those with the same interests, duck hunting and retrievers. Good day.

Brian---some of the problems that I have witnessed are:
Confusion at sign-up area
Slow to get tests set up
Lack of people resources
Problems with secretarial duties
I don't bring this up just to hear myself bitch. You guys have some great grounds, and as I said, probably the best Saturday nite social. Your hunt is a short drive for me and I enjoy(spend too much money)at the outlet mall. I know that you don't work for MO.I have voiced the same concerns to Brad and Radale.
You and I have met and talked quite a bit. We both run the same color dogs. Just giving you guys something to look at because there is some negative talk out there concerning the MO hunt test. Please consider this as a heads-up if you will. Nothing personal towards anyone.

chance (?)-thanks for your input.
1)sign-up problems have been addressed, we have a new hunt test secretary, also compounded by 15-20 entries on morning of hunt, takes time but you can't turn them away
2)lack of people, we can't make people volunteer, we do our best with who we have. I think you'll see some improvements this year along those lines
3)see #2
4)secretarial duties-see #1

By the way, who are you? Are you in a club? and Are you an officer?

President of Southern Flight HRC. I also had a lot of problems getting a refund in the spring when my choc female Sheza Top Gunner came into season and I had to scratch her from finished. Some of our club members volunteered to help at the MO spring hunt because of the shortage of site marshals and birdboys.
Again, Brian, just trying to help. I want to come to the MO hunt. It got a little rough the last two hunts and there are some people ot there complaining.

Thanks for the help. I know that as a club officer you understand the repercussions of an individual not doing their job and others taking the heat for it. I'm sure that when your club experiences a problem you'll understand. As for the refund issue, we have remedied that problem as mentioned in my previous post. By the way, are you the same individual who chose to remain anonymous when you contacted me about that refund issue? I don't understand anyone who will complain, gripe, bitch, or otherwise comment on something without using their name. Just my opinion.

I didn't contact you about the refund problem. I had called Radale and Will about it on four different occasions. They kept promising me it would be sent out the next week. I talked to Bobby Williams about the problem while he was at our preliminary. He called me at home the next week and said he had talked to Radale concerning the matter and that you were sending out the refund. That is when I got it. I did not know you were involved as an officer of MOHRC until then.
Anonymously trying to get a refund would seem to be a futile effort.I do know that there were several others that had the same problem. It sounds like you have the situation under control now.
I sympathize with you concerning the difficulties putting on a quality hunt test. A daunting task when you HAVE enough people to share the work load.To mend bridges as it were, I offer my assistance to help in your efforts for your next hunt. Give me a call. You can get my home phone number from the HRC website.

The old man himself! Now I am impressed. We are nice. Our only problem is that both of us like chocolate labs. That says it all right there.

It's funny, all these negative comments about our test but my phone and e-mail are ringing off the hook wanting premiums and wishing we were running 2 flights of Finished. I guess the proof is in the pudding.Travis, Glenn has decided to be nice and I would appreciate your valuable input also, especially since you guys have had so much experience with Hunt tests. I heard your preliminary went fine. Look forward to your advice.
