Decoy Shows

Postby Jeff » Sun Aug 12, 2001 7:19 pm

Today went to a decoy show in just about my back yard it was pretty amazing. Never seen some truly professional dekes up close. The detail they get is simply amazing. There was a snow goose mount there that if I didn't know it wasn't a mount I would have really had to look at it a while to determine it wasn't real. I just can't imagine the time it takes to make some of that stuff. That and on top of that met some real dyed in the wool Cajuns. Some that only spoke French it is just stuff you don't see anymore and in a few years I don't know how much you will see at all. I really enjoyed it. Kinda seein' you're true heritage in ways that not many people see anyomre. Also found out I can't rmember crap for Cajun French. I tried but failed miserably. However it was neat and I tell ya if ya'll never been to a deke show it is some neat stuff!

I put those redfish on the grill last weekend. Added some lemon pepper and a little butter. Grilled them with the scales on next to the fire. Them redfish is my number two best tasting saltwater fish. Specs number one. Thanks Jeff. Hope to see ya on October 20. Travis judging started.
