CapnT, we were using live nightcrawlers and drifting. Tried powerbaits and glow worms but they were not very successful.

Just got back from a two day fishing trip to the White river in Arkansas. Man, we had a blast!
I was lucky enough to catch a 27" rainbow. It weighed 6lbs. and 7oz. Caught a 19" brown trout also. Released both fish. We brought home two dozen smaller rainbows to eat.
Caught all of these fish with an ultralight and 4 pound test line. You guys need to try it sometime.

Deuce_22, where do you stay when you go to the Little Red River? We go there every year as well. Do you get a guide? If so, who.

Well we do not get a guide. We just kind of rough it out, that is maybe why we have not done so well. We usually go to JKF state park and just find us a place to fish around Swinging Bridge or Lobo Landing. This past spring, we floated from JFK to Lobo and it took us all day. We did not have much luck because the water was so high.

I've fished the Little Red. Fly fishing. I noticed that the fish had some type of white fungus on them. This was several years ago. I didn't catch much of squat but some fellas with spinners and baitcasting rigs did fair. We fished just South of the damn in the tailwaters. Good river to fish in bellyboats. Congrats on that snake that you caught.
