Snow and Cold
Got a bout an inch already with 4"-5" more expected.
ENE wind, and damn cold.
It's quite a bit worse south of here.
Word is the corn piles cannot keep them here.
We have gone to plan B and have closed all major interstates and are dumping corn down the roads!!
We are dumping salt on lakes and ponds to thaw out all available water, the DU tug boats are running up and down the IL amd MS river as well.
This is war!!

Well the actual point was to update you guys on the weather here in the midwest.
But you are right, it is fun....and there are people around here as well who believe that is the purpose of the corn piles around elevators
!
Good hunting,

Gator,
We got room in the boat. Right now we follow the tugs up and down the river, on the chance a duck or goose may get in with the seagulls...
We are working on a grant to put aereators on all bodies of water North of AR and south of Wisconsin, DU is sponsoring the bill. I'll keep you updated.
Until then I gotta go, DU is paying me to keep the generators running and the robos greased!!

Yank, Although your humor may be lost on some MS hunters on this site. We do appreaciate the weather reports. It at lease gives me hope that some more ducks may be on the way, reagardless of the corn... Thanks and keep them coming...

i can tell you where the ducks arent and the ice/snow is...southern Illinois.
a few pics to demonstrate yesterdays hunt
early morning
mid morning
afternoon results (in case you cant see the "stack" of ducks on the motor, that is a bluebill and spoonie)-my kinda hunt
but as you can tell...the snow came...and it came furious and in a hurry..maybe i can catch a few ducks coming down behind it tomorrow (at a different location)
save me a few of them down there in MS!!!!

Another inch of snow last night,no thaw in sight, rode the 4 wheelers on the creeks this weekend.
Seeing lots of geese little to no ducks.
I don't want to offend anyone with Corn Pile talk so I'm switching to the secret DU code:
"The mouse is eating the cheese but wants a glass of milk"
