Dove Hunt Results

Postby TODO » Sat Sep 03, 2005 10:12 am

Shoot was real slow this morning. Managed a limit but it took a couple hours. Didnt hear much shooting from other fields. Im blaming it on the hurricane.

got 5 yesterday in the a.m. didn't see hardly any birds and heard less shot's fired. got the limit in the p.m. in 30 minutes. didn't go this a.m. but got some much needed sleep. i will say that it was the most comfortable hunt "dove's" that i had ever been on. shade, a breeze, and a dog that was on the money ever time, plus i was shooting pretty good myself.

hope the best for ya'll.

had a great time yesterday p.m. got at the spot at 4:30 and didn't see one bird for 30 minutes then they came in. weirdest hunt i've ever taken part in. me and my brother just happened to be where the bird's where. For some unknown reason they were flying across one of our turnrow's. we narrowed their flight down and started shooting. will have to say that my brother pulled off the two best shot's i've seen "LUCK". one was so high it was unreal. we had 2 to 3 seconds after the shot to watch the bird get hit. killed him stone dead. then he winged down a bird into an uncut bean field about 60 yards out. i sent my dog and after a few minutes of searching he flushed. my brother took him out the air at about 90 yards. no lie. we were the only two so skybusting wasn't an issue to bother anyone else. when it came to those 10-25 yard shot's my brother wouldn't even phase them. let em get out to those ranges you wouldn't evn bother and he was the man.

real fun hunt. these afternoon hunt's have been real nice for the first of september. been able to find shade for me and the dog and there was a nice breeze on both afternoon's.

We had a big hunt at the Mallard Manor and managed to scrape up right at 300 birds accumilated over Sat and Sun. It was a great hunt and a great time was had by all.

Had a good hunt. We ended up with probably close to 150 between about 10-15 people.

Great hunt at 3-Rivers on Saturday with over 450 birds taken. The majority of the hunters were completed by 9am. Sunday was extremely slow; must have killed to many on Saturday.

We had a great time and met a lot of great people.
