To make extra cash when I was younger, I would do alot of power washing jobs. You can rent one from any Shermin Williams store. I would go to peoples houses and ask if they would like there sidewalk or driveway powerwashed. Sometimes you can do the whole house. Usually I would charge 20 just to do the sidewalks. Got enough money to buy my on power washer and was doing all kind of jobs. Had several farms I would go to and power wash there equipment. I would also ask people while I was there, would they like there address number painted on the curb in front of there house. All you got to do is have the numbers cut out and spray paint um. Charge um 5 bucks. Worked for me!

For a serious reply you might wan't to look into throwing newspapers. You could make an easy 1000 a month after expenses and you would only have to work about 2 hrs a day.. Down side is that it is from3am -5am but for a grand it might be worth it.

My oldest brother paid his way through college (his own expenses) doing taxidermy.......but he started when he was 14 years old. He did quite well.

My middle brother played trumpet in a blues band in SW Louisiana (The Blues Kings)......they had 'gigs' every weekend and sometimes during the week. Of course he had started playing trumpet at an early age, as well.

I shot pool to support MY habits......and played my horn to qualify for
'service' scholarships to various institutions. Then, I took-up carpentry and laid out of school for a year, framing houses and saved-up some money.

Rely on the things you do well, whether you thought about making money at them, or not.

Since you will be on/near a college campus, make lofts for dorm rooms. There used to be some enterprising young men that did that here a few years back, and I understand they did quite well. They offered several options, from selling precut loft kits, to actually building the loft and installing it in the room.

To get some ideas, just do a search for "lofts" on the web.

When I started State as a junior in 94, I drove around the backroads looking for farms. Finally found one and started driving a tractor for the guy. The next year another Belzoni buddy came to State and he started working for him too. The year that I graduated, another Belzoni buddy came and so it continued. I disked up alot of the ground around GTR airport that it now in fishponds. Worked all over Crawford and Artesia...also got to hunt all of his land and saw some spectacular bucks. Super nice fellow to work for and told me right off that I was there to go to school and not to work for him.

If you want his name, I'll pm it to you. Of course, if you're not going to State this means nothing (but I thought I remembered you said you were going to State in another post)
