Water

Postby littlediesel » Fri Jan 21, 2005 4:58 pm

When is it a good time to let the water out of your holes. I know "after huntig season". Do you leave the water so they will stay longer or drain it so they will go own. Just curious. or does it even matter! :?

There is no true short answer. It will depend on you management goals and objectives. Is it flooded timber? Will you be planting row crops? Are you doing moist soil management? Do you want teal water for next September’s teal season? Are beavers a factor? In most circumstances, the later you leave your water on the better, except if it is flooded timber. If so, pull the plug the last day you hunt the hole. I'd be glad to help you in anyway.
