Whats the best pair of gloves for duck hunting?

I wear wool gloves for any kind of hunting. Put on vinyl trapper gloves over them for handling decoys, etc., or wear a pair of cheap goretex gloves long enough for that. If it's pouring down rain I may wear the Goretex but just prefer wool.

If anyone on here could put up a link to a place i could buy a pair of 100% wool gloves with full fingerss i would appreciate it. I have had the same pair for the last 17 years but they have finally worn completely and i do mean completely out. I cant find a pair like them anywhere. Thanks

I have had a hard time finding a pair of wool gloves myself. I was on the hunt for that perfect pair for a while and never found exactly what i was looking for. I did stumble across a pair of redhead gloves at bass pro and I have two pair now. They are wool/polyester but they have a liner in them. They are very warm and I do not have trouble handling my gun with them. Now as far as them getting wet I am not sure I have not been put in that situation with them. If somebody has a place to get an all wool glove I would like to know also.

Same problem finding wool gloves; I just did a google search for wool gloves and ended up ordering from Cabela's. Woolrich and Filson carry them, too.

Every once in a while you can find them at Bass Pro. Or, some times Army Surplus stores have them.

never have found a pair. I have paid from $2 to $60 and my hands have ended up cold. Mittens work best for me.

I put this same question on the Bull. Been looking for a thin pair of Gore-Tex gloves for years. Thought I had found some made by Browning, but all I could ever find were mediums and they had horrible reviews. I've about decided to go with a handwarmer and take several pair of wool gloves. Eventually they get wet and then just put on a dry pair.

Surgical gloves and a liner....not the warmest.... but your hands will stay dry. JMO

Try the Drake EST or MST gloves. Had the same pair of EST's for 2.5 years. Still waterproof. Thin enough to shoot, load & call with but thick enough to keep your hands marginally warm in 30 degree weather. Keep em dry too, even picking up decoys.

I say you need three pair:

One just as a utility pair for launching the boat, dealing with four wheelers, putting out decoys etc. Use this same pair for picking up and getting out.

Second pair you really only need the left glove (if you're right handed). I can't call, shoot, unwrap a candy bar, dig out pocket knife or really do anything useful with a glove on. So, put the left glove on until it's time to go. Then put back on the first pair again, it doesn't really matter at that point if they are already wet or will get wet, as I'm done.

Third pair. Spare. Bring a spare and you'll never need it. Leave it at the house and oh boy, going to be a long cold day.

I have a dozen right gloves never worn with no matching left. If they only sold left gloves I'd be a happy man.

I somewhat agree with booger. Pair for four wheeler/boat driving. I usually put out and pick up decoys bare handed. I wear a pair of filson wool gloves with just the tip of the trigger fingers cut off about the first knuckle.

I wear the cheap cotton gloves which are brown from the feed mill or gas station. They are warm. It useless if wet. I can't shoot or call with them on anyway so it doesn't matter. Really only wear them for the ride in and out and deer hunting.
