Saban Has Finalized A Deal With...
Alabama....or so the rumor goes. Apparently, it is a giant extension of time and money. Jimmy Sexton could sell ice to Eskimos.

According to sources in Texas it has been a done deal for 8 weeks. 10 year $100 million and 1% of longhorn network. Also heard about the new deal at Bama. If Sumlin can get 5 million a year I am sure Saban will get a nice raise.

I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

NAW ! I would hope he would stay , but , Texas has more to offer !
Alabama is a great place , But it is the 85%er's that give them such a bad wrap !
Most of them can't even spell University, much less ever been to one !

That is b/c we actually went to the University that we cheer for. I choose to go to school at MSU not b/c of the football program. I love my school and will cheer for them no matter what, but if I had not gone to college anywhere and could sit back and choose any school to cheer for than hell why not bama. It’s kind of like pro ball if you do not attend or have family ties to a University. Just pick which one is winning. Anyway what the heck does this have to do with Saban staying or leaving?

That argument is cr*p. Alabama is the state school. People have a sense of pride...especially with no pro team. Its been a successful football program for decades. Many people grew up cheering for Alabama because their family did. Why should people be looked down on for that? You act as if Alabama's recent success has resulted in every non-graduate suddenly cheering for them. While there is certainly a percentage that may "latch" on because they "pick a school that is winning", who can blame them? They want to associate with a winner. If any MS school had a similar track record of wins and championships, the "sidewalk alumni" would certainly be just as large. That's not a shot at MSU or OM, its just the bottom line and no one can deny that.Warren wrote:

If you are going to play that game, you should denounce anyone who didn't attend MSU or OM and kick them out of the stadium next season.

Don't know what to make of it, but the web has blown up this afternoon tracking flights from Tuscaloosa to Austin...Memphis to Lousville to Austin, etc today. There seems to be some smoke relative to Saban to Texas.
Who knows?
I know Saban or his agent or Bama could make it all go away with ease and they haven't. So, it makes you wonder.

Nobody will know until UT makes an official announcement on who the coach will be. Did Brown do enough to save his job? I think he is out one way or another. What I don't understand is if they are willing to do a 10 year contract for that kind of money why not go after someone a little younger that would actually be around for 10 years. Maybe like Jimbo Fisher. I just don't see Saban coaching that much longer.
Re: Saban Has Finalized A Deal With...
I agree with that. 10 more years.....that may be the 'saving grace' that keeps Saban away. I am thinking Charlie Strong is headin that way......maybe even Malzahn?
