Mississippi duck call makers

Postby teul2 » Mon Oct 28, 2013 2:32 pm

I am working to get at least one duck call from all the guys that make duck calls in MS. Not a MS barrel and echo insert, but all wood calls. So, I am hopeing some of you could help me find the ones I don't have, and let me know of makers I've not heard of.
I have Riddell, Reed, Killer Calls of BHaven, Greg Hood, Moonyham, Jordan, Walker, Tharp, 8Gauge (gator), and a few others.

The only makers I can think of that I do not have now are Dominic Serio of Greenwood, Speedy Tharp's grandson in Greenwood, Scott Kinney of Jackson (grandson of the late GD Kinney), Crest Wilson of Corinth, Bloody water calls, Dirty Mallard Calls in Flowood, and Christian Delcambre of Moss Point, MS. There's also that MS State student that did the research on duck calls and then started selling calls. I can't remember his name.

Can you all name off any MS duck call makers, past or present, that you can think of not listed?
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

My buddy makes the Bloody Water calls. If you need to get in touch with him give me a shout, but I think they've got a website so it shouldn't be hard.

Gordon Hartley - Southland Duck Calls - Leland

+1 Billy Woods. He lives in Oxford now. Turns his own inserts. Makes a great call. He placed 3rd in Stuttgart back in the 70's.

I have one of Bill Lester's trumpets, I'll have to get a duck call. And got one of Willey's original single reed flextones from him at his shop in Starkville many years ago.
Have a Southland also. Have a "pre-southland" Hartley call on the way.

Can some one send me Billy's contact info (PM is fine)?

FYI, for you all, here is Mr Lester's website. The man can flat out run a trumpet call. http://www.wlesteratdockery.com/

Your dad said he was wrong, it was Billy Wood and he isn't making anymore calls.
Anyone have his contact info? I'd love to get one of them before they are gone.

Joey, if you come up with one of the callers I am looking for, we can swap. I have one of Mr. Woods calls on order.

Of course, there was Grubbs in Pascagoula. :)

Greg Hood had SGC and his new deal. Very easy to find those.

Miss Mallard calls from around Jackson. He used to have a website and be on here, as I recall.

Fowl Attitude from Jackson area. He is a member here, but no longer making calls.
