Also why wasn't he hooked up for Trespassing, Hunting w/o License, Hunting w/ an unplugged gun, Hunting with lead shot(I'm sure that SOB wasn't shooting steel).

I just got to believe a GW could scratch out way more charges than what the local Bernard P. Fifes did.

I bet he didn't have his HIP survey either!

Sounds like this guy got off easy.

Just because he was shooting a 410 doesn't mean the guys were out of range.. A 410 will travel just as far as a 12ga. Compare the Shot size and Velocity on 410,28,20, & 12 gauge boxes.. Most are going to be traveling in and around the 1200 FPS range.. For example, I have a box of Remington 410 #4's that are traveling 1250 FPS.

Many people think that a 410, 28 or 20 will not travel as far, but that is a myth.. A #4 pellet traveling 1250fps is a #4 pellet traveling 1250fps no matter what gauge it comes out of.. The only difference is that there are not as many #4 pellets in a 410, 28 or 20 than they are in a 12

Either way, if I am out duck hunting in a canoe with my brother (or anyone else for that matter), and some tree hugger comes out and shoots at us with anything, I am going to shoot back! And I am not the only person who thinks that way.

In other words, that foolish old man is going to get himself killed seriously dead if he doesn't learn from this little escapade of stupidity.
