Sandman

Not a Yankee fan, but the last time he was on the mound in Yankee Stadium will be a moment that will be shown over and over thru the years. Thought it was great that Jeter and Petite came out to take him out of the game. The Rays showed great appreciation letting the moment last as long as possible as well. A class act and the greatest closer of all time.

Hate the Yankees but have the utmost respect for him. He was always a class act and an amazing closer. I wonder how many bats he broke in his career.

What is amazing is that he did what he did with essentially one pitch. Doubt we ever see that again.

Agreed! Never have liked the Yankees but wouldn't have minded seeing Yanks make the play-offs just so Mo could have thrown in play-offs in final year. He played the game like most folks from earlier years think it should have been played. Never thought he showed others up or tried to make a spectacle of himself. Hope he gets opportunity to play center this weekend! Hate to admit but the Yankees have done something right in honoring him in the final season.

And he discovered that one pitch by accident throwing in the bullpen.

Pretty awesome moment with those three out on the mound. Congrats on a great career and a much deserved retirement to Mr. Rivera!
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

had chills watching it that night. very special moment in baseball for sure. rivera was a proud yankee and he was good. probably won't see one like that for a long time and dang sure wont see one stay with a team that long.
There will be a day....
