Re: Official ole ms vs bama thread
It will be very difficult for the Rebels to beat the Tide in Tuscaloosa. Think Mission Impossible. But, even the Mission Impossible scenarios turned the impossible to possible. So, difficult, but not impossible. And now that we know Saban's secret that he let slip to a reporter, we may just have a chance.

While everyone else sees a rectangular football field, Saban sees a triangle, narrowing the field of play. We plan to combat this sorcery with a geometrical, metaphysical secret of our own ---- "the circle of victory", expanding the field of play beyond conventional thought and what was previously known to be possible, going where no player has gone before.
Jedi Knight (Freeze) v The Dark Lord (Saban). Good v Evil. Stay tuned.

Re: Official ole ms vs bama thread
Ole Miss has not played anyone of note (Texas cannot be considered of note because they are horrible). However, I think Ole Miss is good, maybe the 2nd or 3rd best team in the SECw...but they are not in the league of Alabama. I think Ole Miss will be able to score, but they will not be able to stop Alabama. The game could be similarly analogous to the Texas A&M game.
I think the final score will probably be in the neighborhood of 42-24, Bama....

If the tide forget they have a game that day!

Re: Official ole ms vs bama thread
Ole Miss offense will give Bama some fits....quick back in #3 and the freshman reciever will have a major height/reach advantage much like th TAM receiver did........just not sure if they can 'outscore' Bama as TAM couldn't. I do believe it will be a great SEC game and that Ole Miss is heading in the right direction, just not sure if they can pull of the upset this year.....next year, prob so, but not sure about this soon.
Re: Official ole ms vs bama thread
Here's the formula:
1) Do what Va Tech did on D to Alabama (205 total yards, 2.5 YPC) - just don't give up a punt return/kickoff return/int return for TDs.
2) Do what A&M did on O to Alabama (628 total yards, 464 yards passing)
Easy enough right?

I never say never. Nobody thought OM would beat FLA a few years ago either.
I see OM putting up points, but the game may play out like the Texas vs OM game last year.

Re: Official ole ms vs bama thread
I look at it like this....Bama had a much better team last year - they basically had an NFL offensive line with an NFL starting RB in Eddie Lacy (along with Yeldon)....and the OM team this year is a lot better than the OM team last year (it was only Freeze's 4th game as coach too)
Everyone said Bama would absolutely blow OM off the ball last year and run it down their throats but Bama ran for 125 yards at 3.7 yards per carry....McCarron had a good game 22-30, 180 yds, 2 TDs, 0 int...I remember OM went up 7-6 last year the beginning of the 2nd quarter and the announcers said that was the 1st time Bama had been behind all year - then the kickoff happened and Christian Jones went 99yds for a TD----that lead lasted about 6 seconds....but OM competed and I remember some Bama players saying OM played as physical as anyone else....my point is...I think Bama isn't quite as good as last year (not a knock because that was a badass team) and OM is better with more depth than last year....Bama still wins but I think it'll be closer than last year...something like a 31-24 or 28-21 Bama win.
The bye week for OM couldn't have come at a better time, that's for sure. They'll get at least two starters back (Vincent Sanders & Charles Sawyer) and maybe a third if Denzel Nkemdiche can go...
I wonder if an SEC team has played another SEC team on the road, two years in a row with that team being ranked #1 both times??

Re: Official ole ms vs bama thread
I think we will put 30 on them, but they will hang 40 on us.
Re: Official ole ms vs bama thread
If the spread is any less than -15 I will literally put every dime in my bank account on Alabama covering. Ole Miss isn't a bad team they are good but just like when state was good Alabama is great they are on an entirely different level. Texas may be the worst thing to happen to Ole Miss giving them a false sense of arriving because Texas is bad I watched BYU rope them and then knew when I saw Ole Miss +3 it was the lock of the century. Yes Ole Miss is good but beating Vandy on a last min play and beating a very bad Texas doesn't mean there is a chance against Bama. I think 42-13ish will be the score.
