Jackson Area Music Happenings
The Black Crowes are coming to Jackson on September 25th. Tickets are going on sale July 26th. Its going to be at Thalia Mara so I anticpate a storytellers type show versus a rocking show. Not sure how that will play out, but nonetheless, yall now know about it.
Re: Jackson Area Music Happenings
I will be going. Had tickets to the new orleans show but sold em. Hopefully Tedeschi/Trucks will make an appearance as well.

Re: Jackson Area Music Happenings
Paul Thorn is playing at Duling Hall 2 days later. This is putting me in somewhat of a quandary. I have to figure out a way to attend both, if not - Crowes will likely go to the top even though it's the middle of the week.
TTB's last show with the Crowes is August 15th in Michigan. It appears that between Sept 21st (Beacon Theatre, NY) and October 13th (Ozark, Arkansas) TTB is taking a month off tour. I think it's a long shot for them to make a cameo. It would rock.
Some of y'all probably use some or all of these but I thought I'd share:
Pollstar has a lot of listings. Search by band or city (I tend to hit Little Rock, Memphis, Tuscaloosa, Biloxi, New Orleans and a few others). Here's Jackson:

Here's the Jackson Free Press. They're beyond liberal but they keep up with lots of Jackson Music:

Cathead Music listings: (Mainly blues and festivals)

I'm more interested in Paul Thorn than the Black Crowes.

Heard about this last night. Sounds like it would be cool even if it wasn't an all out rock concert.deltadukman wrote:The Black Crowes are coming to Jackson on September 25th. He's also playing the King Biscuit Festival in Helena, AR on Friday, Oct 11th. I think this is the 2nd or 3rd year in a row. He goes on before Robert Cray. Greg Allman headlines on Saturday. Bobby Rush plays Saturday, too.pondman wrote:I'm more interested in Paul Thorn than the Black Crowes.

Not sure why you would think it wouldn't be a rocki9n show! The band Yes blew Thalia Mara up last Thursday. Back in the early nineties Widespread had a rocking show there. It’s a great place to see a concert.

It is not in Jackson, but this looks like a pretty good lineup. The wife and I will be getting a babysitter and attending this event...
I don't do facespace, but this is all I could find on the internet, some of you guys that have a facespace might can find more info about it there. The website they have listed just says it will be updated...but it aint updated yet

Re: Jackson Area Music Happenings
I sent them a message and this is the reply I got:
"Our website will be up by the end of the week. Prices are $39 for one day, $69 for the weekend with no overnight stay, $99 for overnight and camping."
The camping fee does not include tickets based on the RV reservation form on their Facebook page. It says you still have to buy tickets... I guess it's the same price for tent camping as well.
Gates open on Friday, music starts Saturday and runs until Sunday evening.

Re: Jackson Area Music Happenings
Buddy of mine is helping with the festival in Greenville. He told me some of the bands they have lined up. I remember Drive By Truckers, The Weak and NMAS. He said they have an offer into Warren Haynes but haven't heard back yet.

Re: Jackson Area Music Happenings
The bands were listed on the first link.
Official lineup:
Drive by Truckers, Edwin McCain, North Mississippi Allstars, Steve Azar with Deana Carter, Javier Colon, The Weeks, The Vettes, Jimbo Mathus and the Tri-State Coalistion, Jason Fratesi & the Dirt Road Jam Band, Good Paper of Rev. Robert Mortimer, Kallie North, Eden Brent, Pat Thomas, Libby Rae Watson, Terry “Harmonica” Bean, Cadillac John Nolden and Bill Abel, The John Horton Band, Lightnin’ Malcom and Stud, Eddie Cusic, The Jarekus Singleton Band, The Cedric Burnside Project, MC by Gary Valentine
Warren Haynes is playing Chicago on Oct 4 and 5th so there's the outside chance he could play this on a Sunday.
