Trying to find a boykin spaniel

Postby DuCkCoMaNdEr » Thu Apr 04, 2013 3:42 pm

Like it says, I have been searching for one for a while with no luck. Most I have found the waiting list is backed up for a long time and are way off in different states. I dont mind waiting a while but would like to find some closer to Mississippi. Anyone have any leads on any around with health cleareances, hunting backgrounds etc? Thanks for any help.

I had to drive to Georgia to get mine. Could not find what I wanted in MS or AL. There used to be several breeders that would advertise litters on gundogbreeders.com.

Call Joey Laughter 901-240-2593 about a breeding he has coming up. Memphis area. His dog is female about 2 yrs old, HRCH & SH Boykin 40 lbs. Intelligent, etc, etc. All health clearances. She will be bred during an August heat cycle to a proven titled male soon for Fall puppies.

If you're going to be at magnolia this weekend, look for the guy runnin boykins in master, that's my old man. He is breeding his boys coming up fairly soon, he just got 1st and 4th in the open at the Boykin nationals. 1 is HRCH/MH and the other is HRCH with 3 master passes so far. His name is Butch Herb.

One of the funniest things I've seen was last year a client brought his Boykin and when he was on the stand waiting to be sent on a bird that fell, he would stand on his front legs and his butt and two hind legs would be straight up in the air. It was hysterical

Neat little dogs.

'Stoney' is an exceptional dog for sure!.......and if I remember, Butch/Stoney's pass rate for Master title was like 5 for 6. We ran in their flights several times last year - class act all the way!

Tell Butch hello from Team 'Fluffy'.......Anne & Randy Dennis (the golden retriever folks).
