Jovan Belcher
Obviously this is a bad deal for many reasons. My comment is this... Why do all these individuals get portrayed as "great people"? I understand the motivation to not piss on somebody while they are going through or have gone through epic events. The coverage seems to be the usual "Jovan would never do this" "I never saw it coming" "He was the nicest guy I've ever known" "He was never violent". I'm no psychologist so I guess some mental break could cause events like this, but I am also a big personal accountability guy. The facts currently are that Jovan was struggling with something(mentally/physically) and his way of handling it was to brutally kill the mother of his 3 month old child in front of his own mother then to travel to his training facility and commit suicide in front of his coach and GM. Doesn't sound like a "real nice guy" to me. Maybe I'm just a heartless "illegitimate child".

If you are, I guess I am too. None of it makes sense to me. The thing is, personal accountability seems to have no place in today's society.
Re: Jovan Belcher
Funny you ask that....I recently went to a funeral of someone that......to put it nicely.......led a "less than perfect" life. Person conducting the funeral was a friend of a friend......deceased didn't attend church so she didn't have a regular preacher. Person conducting the ceremony was talking about how he knew the deceased was in heaven because of the way she lived her life. It really was uncomfortable for me........I have never been to a funeral where anyone said "oh well, they had their chance but this one will burn in he?@"......Northbigmuddy wrote:Obviously this is a bad deal for many reasons. Well, stitch it does happen, but it takes a serious person to do it!
Had a guy down the road who is a Pastor at a church conduct a funeral and he stated, "this man is in hell, he never accepted Christ and refused to before he passed. No doubt in my mind where his soul is." Instead of anger, we should have a broken heart when we hear of this.
I do not know what was going thru this man's mind, but he CHOSE the wrong way out. Prayers for his family.
