Kudos to MDWFP!! Trespassers caught!!
All to often we only hear people talking negatively about the MDWFP, thought I'd share a positive experience with them this past weekend.
About 2 weeks ago I got a game cam pic of a trespasser on my property. I got in touch with my local GW to find out what I needed to do to catch this cat. He gave me his cell # and told me to give him a call if I saw him and he would be there asap. Well, Saturday afternoon I was riding the towards the backside of my property and caught a glimpse of an orange vest climbing down from my deer stand next to a greenfield I planted. I stopped and holler'd "Hey" at the guy and he took off running. By the time I got to where he was, he had taken his vest off and was hiding somewhere in the woods so I backed out and called the GW. He was off but called the next closest officer. 15 minutes later, i've got 2 GW trucks pulling up on my property. I tell them the deal and they strike out on foot. About 10 min later one of the officers calls me and tells me that they caught not 1 but 3 of em!!! 2 were hiding in a ditch and 1 was hiding under a brush top back in the hardwoods. Long story short, those 3 cats got what they deserved. I was NOT very happy with them and let them know it. I don't think they'll be visiting my place anytime soon!
Thanks to you guys for what you do!

Good deal. I am one who bitches and moans about some of the stuff they do but like you posted they do great jobs also. They never know what they are faced when in a situation like yours.

I am glad they caught those POS! I find it totally amazing that some people will just strike out onto property they don;t own, climb up into a deer stand and hunt someone else land. I can't believe the nerve of some people and why if you are trespassing would you wear an orange vest?
Good job MDWFP.

Nice! I hope you gave those two a big thank you. It takes a dedicated person to take off into the woods looking for a guy hiding that is wearing camo and you know is armed. I know we all gripe about them at some point or another but the majority are great guys and just doing their job.

The kicker was it was a father, his 16 year old son and his prob 25 year old son in-law. My dad would have NEVER condoned something like this in a million years. I was brought up to respect other people's things and property and would have never dreamed on doing something like that. This is a major problem and people like this dad are the ones who are destroying the heritage of our sport! I'm sure that my property is not the only property they have trespassed on and it may not be the last, but when they have to fork up some of THEIR $$ for their stupidity, maybe they will think twice about it next time.
Wingman,
Could you possibly get me a contact email for the big dog for the North Regional office so I could let him know what a fine job these guys did?

Do they own land anywhere around your property? That is crazy for 3 dudes to just show up outta the blue and setup shop on somebody's place like that. Is there not and public woods nearby? These folks must be straight up outlaws or pretty desperate.

No, they live about 20 min away in another county. They were parking down the road at a house and walking in. I don't really know how it all connected but I know for a fact that they didn't have permission from the previous owners. They owned the property for about 55 yrs before i bought it and I was told by them that they never gave permission to anybody.MSDawg870 wrote:Do they own land anywhere around your property? I'm about 3 miles from the tombigbee river. There's tons of corp land to hunt there and also several WMA's within 30 or so minutes. Also I just put up a 20 foot gate last Monday and piled up berms of dirt on both sides to keep people from being able to drive around it on a wheeler and them ninjas just walked around it! I asked that guy if he thought that gate ment "come on in, it's all yours"?!! He didn't have an answer to that.

You'll be asking for Captain Palmer at the Tupelo office. I don't have that # on me but you can also use this link. http://mdwfp.com/applications/contactform/mobile.aspxgreenheadman1 wrote:The kicker was it was a father, his 16 year old son and his prob 25 year old son in-law. I don't know who helped you or which county but I personally want to thank you for the positive feedback. The negative feedback seems to just ooze out from every crack and crevice these days.

Good guys win, good guys win! Job well done by all involved, hope they regret their actions for sure!
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.
Re: Kudos to MDWFP!! Trespassers caught!!
Wish these guys would come to Yazoo County. Got a few that need to be caught... and need to be caught quick. Hell if they caught them, it would help out 2 seperate land owners. They hunt on us and fish the neighbors
