Springfield Armory XDS

Postby deltadukman » Thu Nov 08, 2012 10:32 am

Anyone have any experience with this pistol? Looks like a nice pistol, but .45acp in a small frame makes me leary. Im looking for a ccw weapon.

They are good guns. Don't be easy with it chambering a round, it takes some force from what my buddy said who has one. They are really accurate as well. You should like it! Order a Crossbreed mini tuck for it and a good belt!

I plan on ordering a cross breed. Was at Vans asking to see one, they didnt have any but checked on an order that had just arrived and they got one and it hadnt been entered into the computer yet. I like it for carry and a bedside/truck gun with the 7+1 ext mag. Lots of boom in a small package. Fits well.

love my XD 45 , the only thing I don't like is that sumabitch will blow your eardrums out your head if not using earplugs!

Look at the XDm vs the XDs. Its also about $75 cheaper. The XDm is a double stack and holds more ammo. Not quite as thin, and only 3/4 of an inch longer but the height is the same, and overall I preferred it to the XDs since it also comes with a full size mag and mag grip extension to give it the full size grip. It would be my choice in compact 45. I read a great article comparing the two and it was in favor of the XDm and they said recoil was not bad. Heck most 40's have worse recoil than .45's. A .45 is just a push vs a quick snap of a .40. My dad's compact Walther .40 is not fun to shoot for this reason. My dad's Walther .40 recoiled worse than my friend's Taurus millenium pro which is the smallest 45 pistol I've held or shot.

I have one and have shot a few clips through it..I like the gun. It has not had any malfunctions. If you are around my neck of the woods you are welcome to shoot it.
