Its like telling your child not to do something over and over and over and over and over.... there comes a point where you get tired of telling the same thing over and over. Football season is less than 30 days away. Coaches are busy. They last thing they want is media folks wasting more time.

He hasn't even lost his first SEC West game yet and he's trying to walk out of the room.

You have played 0 minutes of college football, much less coached, and now you're critiquing and trying to tell a SEC coach what he is doing wrong....

Well anyone that looks like Beaver's redheaded biatch certainly isn't going to be a smash mouth ball player...deltadukman wrote:webbmaster wrote:He hasn't even lost his first SEC West game yet and he's trying to walk out of the room.

He is a winner in one category: moral victories. One day Cam Newton...ONE day.

Brad Locke asked the question. It's no secret that Dan and Brad don't like each other. Locke knows Dan's policy on injuries, this is nothing new. Troll on.

Camp is a pissy time. It will make anybody ill it's long ass days in the heat and you have a lot of important stuff to do being a head coach that have a direct influence on how well a team will be that year and if you have one bad practice or fall behind at all it can butterfly effect an entire season. Every single practice matters and it is a constant grind to make sure the important tasks are done. Sitting in the room talking to a bunch of people who have not one drop of athleticism yet try to critique somebody with multiple national championship rings via the media is not something high on the priorities list at the moment. It would be like duck season is opening next week and you don't have any of the spots set up and your wife is taking you shopping...you really don't want to be there anyway so anytime you see an escape opportunity you jump on in.

Re: Dan Mullins has a policy
OK, just so we are all on the same page here...
We all agree the following:
If you have never played or coached college football then you are not allowed to "critique"** an SEC coach. Doesn't matter if you are a member of the media OR if you are on an internet message board -- no critique.
If this rule is implemented, there are going to be a lot of people out of a job AND there will need to be some sort of monitoring around here. Media members fired. Message board posters banned.
Here is another question: later in the year, when Dan Mullins is at risk of losing his job due to some bone headed coaching OR he has a big win (doubtful)and wants to pump himself up in the public eye in hopes of getting a raise AND/OR he wants to paint the program up to impress potential recruits, what platform is he going to use? All those unathletic dudes with the notepads who ask tough questions won't be around. I guess it won't matter to Mullins. He'll be in his office polishing off all those national championship rings.
All these coaches get huffy with the media. It's funny. It's August.
** By the way, was the reporter really "critiquing" him or just asking him a question about injuries?
