Rough Cut Lumber

Postby quacker11 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 9:03 pm

Anyone know anybody in the Central MS area, preferable Rankin, Scott County area that they'd recommend to purchase some rough cut lumber from. Looking for some oak for a trailer floor. I know there are a lot of guys around with sawmills, but just don't know anyone off hand.

Nothing close, but I just had 500ft of cypress cut up from Marlin Mill and Lumber in Tallulah (Frankie Gayle 318-376-2317). They specialize in big ruff cut stuff and i think i saw some oak logs around. If you get towards Enterprise (Clarke), I have a source that may have some laying around also that we did the same thing for a trailer a few years back.

Thanks guys. I may have found someone in Forest to do it. Checking on it it now. This is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 bd feet. Matt, what did you have to give for the cypress? PM me if you'd rather.

Brian Davis is right there in the Madison/Ridgeland area. He sells all types of wood and has a mill too.......601-906-8333. I bought some rough cut beams from him and a lot of flooring as well.

I was just buying ruff cut for a project and the charged .85 sqft. I had him quote me some 1x6 and 1x12 plained on one side for $1.35/sqft though for paneling. Frankie was a good guy and could do just about anything we wanted with all the logs he had.
