Instead, Wallace broke the arm tackle and now LSU is doomed. Funny game.
This is a valid point (although it sounds like something an Ole Miss fanboy would say).
LSU went to UGA and matched them score for score. LSU has played great offense all year.

LSUs offense has been pretty stagnant the last three games (even against Furman in the first half). However, I think LSU can score on Bama better than anyone has excluding Texas A&M. My concern is that LSUs defense has been downright awful. It has been rare that an opposing team, excluding easier games, has even punted against LSU. I think Ole Miss punted once against LSU. I don't think Georgia ever punted against LSU. I don't think State punted against LSU until midway through the 3rd quarter. Point being, Alabama will have the best, most balanced, offense that LSU will play.
The sole reason this series has been as evenly balanced over the last 7-8 years is because both teams have played great defense.
That is why I think Bama wins by 17+. Moreover, when you start the season with conference and even national title expectations, when you are relegated to at best being in the Capital One Bowl, even if you win out, it kind of takes the "care" away when playing the remaining games.**

Plus I think I am old enough now not to put as much emotional energy into what a bunch of 18-22 year olds do...

This is because most of the Ole Miss fans here always make valid points. Just because some of you don't like the messenger, does not make the points any less valid. Glad to see you finally coming to your senses and conceding the obvious. It's about damned time. Hopefully, it will be contagious.

LSU fan here but I believe the Gumps will win this one by 2 touchdowns. Piss poor linebacker play and 2 " all-American" defensive lineman that haven't lived up to the hype.

Deltamud77 wrote:I am probably less concerned about this game with Bama than any in the last 15 years. I have no expectation that LSU will win. LSUs season was effectively over three weeks ago when the uninspired Les Miles coached team spotted Ole Miss 17 points. Even if Alabama wins by 50, it really is of no concern to me at this point. Moreover, if Bama were to win by 50, maybe, just maybe the Les Miles hot seat would start to flicker ambers of hope for his eventual termination.

Don't worry Les will probably win this game and keep his self off the hot seat. May e the key to beating Saban is having a coach that is bat poop crazy that he can't prepare for.

Losing 8 players to the draft on defense surely effected LSU. That was their only weakness because those WRs are studs.

Yes they are, I really thought Beckham was going to light up our secondary. Landry is really good but Beckham is the one that has really impressed me this year. Also I hope Mettenberger is not hurt too badly. I watched the game with some LSU friends of mine and after that first sack at the end we all agreed Miles should take him out because he had already taken enough of a beating. I would hate for a senior to go out like that.
