I don't know who helped you or which county but I personally want to thank you for the positive feedback. The negative feedback seems to just ooze out from every crack and crevice these days.
Do NOT let any "negative feedback" get to you. You guys are under staffed, under equipped, over worked, thrown into a situation where the person you are after is not only always armed but is well experienced in using said 'arms', and you are expected to maintain some resemblance of professionalism.

What are you gonna do for an encore? Nail jello to a tree, or juggle cats?

To say the least, I for one am pleased to have you guys around. Stay safe.

No, they live about 20 min away in another county. They were parking down the road at a house and walking in. I don't really know how it all connected but I know for a fact that they didn't have permission from the previous owners. They owned the property for about 55 yrs before i bought it and I was told by them that they never gave permission to anybody.

I'm about 3 miles from the tombigbee river. There's tons of corp land to hunt there and also several WMA's within 30 or so minutes. Also I just put up a 20 foot gate last Monday and piled up berms of dirt on both sides to keep people from being able to drive around it on a wheeler and them ninjas just walked around it! I asked that guy if he thought that gate ment "come on in, it's all yours"?!! He didn't have an answer to that.
People like that operate almost like squatters. They believe that all land is open land and they because their fathers and grandfathers before them hunted the land they had every right to do the same.

I inherited some property a couple of years ago that I never really knew much about. I went over there a few times and realized that most of the locals in that county just assumed that the land was open for them to do whatever they wanted. I realized that it would have been nearly impossible to keep those people off the property. I just sold the land just to save the headache of trying to manage it. The guy I sold it to told me later that it was like the wild wild west out there with that property. Said he had sheriff and game wardens out there just about every week. The truth of the matter is that MS is just loaded with a bunch of outlaws that could care less about property ownership etc...

Congrats on catching them and hopefully they will get the message. We had a couple of guys come across or property line 200 yds this past Saturday and it was obvious. They plead ignorant of the line even though it was clear with a recent timber cut on the line. We also frequently have a problem in S MS with some coon asses that just don't get it. I absolutely hate trespassers and thieves. Hey there Rusty.

I hunted some family land last year and found a trespasser. Engaged him in conversation without revealing it was family land and the guy told me that the owners lived a good ways away and were never around so if I wanted to hunt it feel free to do so. I talked with him for 10 or 15 minutes and got his name and where he was from. He offered to meet with me next weekend to show me around the place. It was then that I told him thank you but that I thought I could handle it since I had been running around that land since I was about 7. I also told him it was good to know I was free to hunt land that my family has owned for close to 40 years.  He couldn't leave fast enough. Told my wife about it when I got home and she said I was stupid for playing him like that as anything could have happend and she's probably right. But the look on that old boys face was priceless.

Is this why you always tell me to take my vest off when you take me hunting?

I would have taken him up on the offer and showed up with a friend that just happen to have a badge in his pocket.

That's true, but you should come to north west Tennessee. I've never heard of more bold poachers than the locals of NW Tennessee. Stories of people getting tow trucks to pull down huge steel gates put up to keep poachers out. They simply don't care. I think it's just passed down from generations that there is no respect shown to land owners. I simply don't understand it.

Come to my farm if you want to see some crazy rampant trespassing. I run at least 1-2 people off one of our farms weekly. Yes, I said WEEKLY. Most of them are going out there to cheat on their spouses or do drugs or try to dump trash but I have caught about 10 different groups of rabbit hunters, three groups duck hunting (including a successful insurance salesman with kids and his buddy with kids who "had permission" from a landowner a mile and a half away), deer hunters, spotlighters, etc. it is like the Wild Wild West. I have literally been riding into the farm around 9:30 at night and watched muzzle flashes and heard the reports of a pistol being fired about 35 yards in front of me. I hit the gas thinking they might be shooting at me with full intentions of running the guy over if he pointed the weapon at me. He started trotting back to his vehicle so I slid to a stop and put the beam of a freshly charged streamlight in the guys face so he couldn't see the pistol I had drawn on him as he explained he was "testing out this here new pistol he just bought at the club" . I have had gates torn down at anther property, shops broken into, shops shot. It's ridiculous and truly pisses me off that people have so little respect for others property.

I say we go back to the monarchy laws governing royal forests..you get caught trespassing you get drawn and quartered!

I'm not as bad off as chevy01234 thankfully. My biggest issues are a public road and law enforcement pissing matches. The public roads go through a few good areas, so those are a warzone. There are 3 competing law enforcement branches with jurisdiction, but since each off em wants absolute control and the other two will not give it up then they all kind of ignore the area so as not to step on any toes. I hear there has been some progress and may be some action this year which I am glad for. A lot of the guys that do get caught are off duty law enforcement anyway which is probably part of the problem.

I will say that out of all the law enforcement I deal with I respect the Game Wardens. I know them and understand that they are stretched super thin.

I used to be in a lease in western Hinds county and one day I forgot to lock the gate behind me and I was way back towards the back of the property talking to my buddy when up comes some old black guy in his truck. He pulled all the way to the back of the property before he saw us. I figured he was going to say that he had permission to fish the pond from the landowner, but when I asked him what he was doing he said, "Well. The gate was unlocked so I just decided to see what was back here." Seriously, what he f@ck is wrong with some people?
