If you were referring to me, I happen to be a fan of his philosophy. I have seen the fear that it instills in some of the "fanboys" and thought it funny when someone else acknowledged it. Riverrat referred to someone I know personally whose family hasn't had to borrow a penny in 3 generations or more -- this person gets nervous when he has to use his corporate AMEX for work.Smoke68 wrote:This seems to be the way a lot of these Dave Ramsey threads always turn out. Re: Dave Ramsey Readers
Not referring to anyone in particular, it's just a pattern I've noticed on several DR threads. First someone asks, then several positive responses, then several responses that kinda lean the other way. I know nobody on here is promoting leveraging everything you got up to your eyeballs. To each his own. Have a great Monday!stang67 wrote:If you were referring to me, I happen to be a fan of his philosophy. Re: Dave Ramsey Readers
I think Dave's concepts are more geared towards personal finance. He understands most folks don't have a clue how to start/run a business and gives the advice he gives to call-ins on his radio show concerning starting a business because of that. If I were to want to start a business I would have to save for it. I had a little lawn service and started out with minimal equipment and bought commercial stuff and mowers as I had the money. I wouldn't know how to determine if borrowing for lawn equipment would be a good investment or not. Some of you, however, know how to leverage and are good at it.
