So, How do you like duck hunting, Now?
Have you come close to meeting your pre-season expectations?
Just curious.

Early is was bad... real bad. Since the weekend before christmas have not had a hunt (weekends only) with out leaving with a 3 man limit. Overall season is turning out better than I expected.

It hunting, not shooting, so its ok. Although, I do like the "shooting" part a lot.
So many ducks, so little time....

Get em WET!............Their feet that is.
Re: So, How do you like duck hunting, Now?
Ready for some sun shine too. Tired of ducks in slash water instead of in the trees. Overall it has been a great year. Early on numbers were high...then fell at Christmas....now back up again. Less time hunting this year because of other family duties, but we have scratched out ducks even when we thought we would not. Hunted some spots that we have not hunted in years. Played around with #s of decoys and decoy placement. It is always entertaining when most of your hunting group is not yet old enough to drink....or even buy tobacco for that matterDUCK-HUNT wrote:tooo many cloudy/rainy days.... days we saw the sun where bad days for the ducks

Are we gonna get wet?

Best early season I can remember. It was backwards for my farm. Great early and died off after Christmas. Usually just the opposite. Been lots of limits. Best year since 06. I would say 3 rd best since 99 so far. If next 2 weeks good it could go to 2nd best. Mallards have been plentiful. I'm flooded out now and ducks have moved to fresh water.

No complaints here. As a matter of fact, the older I get, the more I enjoy all things duck hunting.

I'm trying to get over the flu, so that sucks! I can't complain other than that, we have had some pretty good hunts and a bunch of fun! My daughter killed her first duck, buddies son killed his first goose, took his first swim and made some great shots while hunting with me one day. Hope to be well by the weekend to give it one last go from Saturday through the following Sunday!
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

What's duck hunting?
Because of six weeks working Nov.- Dec., I have not even been in a blind yet. Hope to go this weekend then it's back to work for 2 weeks. So I thought I would have at least a few hunts before Christmas.

Mediocre for me. Hot, cold, not much water, too much water. Not making excuses just everytime I figure em out all the variables change...completely. Should be one heck of a learning experience though. Years of situations all in one season. My best day so far was a 73 degree January special...go figure.
