Good one to end the season

Postby LawDawg » Wed Jan 02, 2013 12:52 pm

Been after this deer since I got him on camera. He finally slipped up last week chasing a doe.

Here he is in camera

Here he is after he met his maker.

Gutted, he weighed 265. That puts him dang close to 300 on the hoof and I believe it. It's the biggest deer, both body and horns, I've ever shot.

Almost 21 inch spread mainframe 11 with a 1.5 inch kicker off his right base. Scored 147 1/2.

For all you jaw bone experts, how old you think he was?

I bet he was a STUD 2 or 3 years ago.

Congrats Alec! Heck of a deer. You are going to have to take out a second mortgage to pay off the taxidermy bill for the year.

Dead n half. Great Deer. Of all of my years of hunting, this is the first time that I have actually killed bucks that I had pics of. It is cool to have a trail cam photo of the deer framed just below the mount on the wall.

Thats a sho nuff good un. Congrats. That side shot of the jaw looks kinda odd with some teeth missing, some relatively flat and another still having a defined lingual crest. Its plenty dang old though. Cant imagine that sucker being younger than 5.

Great deer, Alec. Did not realize just how big he was until I read his weight. Must have looked like a steer on the hoof.

Congrats again!
