ranger problem
ranger problem
i have a 07 polaris ranger thought the fuel pump might be going out bc it has a rough idle an is kind of sluggish when first cranking up. im not sure thats the issue thou it runs fine when getting up to speed its just on the slow end its kind of jerky starting off like it could be something else. could any one give me a idea of something to check or someone to talk to about it? thanks

Re: ranger problem
Sounds like its idling a little too low. What is idle speed? Should be around 1080 rpm. If not, there is a fairly meticulous process to correct it, and I don't know enough about it to tell you. Go to prcforum.com and search. There are tons of topics about rough idling and how to fix. Has something to do with tbap sensor, or something like that.

Re: ranger problem
Try running regular gas through it and not ethanol fuel. My rhino does the same thing and I can put non ethanol in it and it runs perfect.

Re: ranger problem
Mine started doing the same thing. It will sometimes die if I dont let it idle for a bit before I take off cold. My thought was fuel pump starting to act up.
