i've got an original cabela's waterfowl rucksack (backpack) that is a lot easier for walking, but when loaded doesn't stand upright well (if there are no trees to hang it on). lots of room in the main compartment, but stuff doesn't stay organized long once you go digging for something on the bottom. i haven't tested the bottom for water tightness, but have read reviews that the seams leak.

Thanks for the suggestions, good comments by all. I have back pack style as well (not the filson, it sure is purty, but I'm too cheap) but most of mine will be via ATV/UTV so looking for something bigger, but not the suitcase. I have a 14 yo son who goes with me some, so I was trying to use 1 larger one instead of two smaller ones when needed. I'm leaning toward the drake floating since I do have some pirogue spots as well.

.......make sure you get a floating bag.....insurance for the next time you dump your 4 wheeler in a ditch.....

And make sure its comfortable to carry for the next time you have to crawl across a sticky buckshot bean field...may even keep some water in it as to not become dehydrated...

I have the Final Attack bag that one is based off of. Final Attack doesn't make it any more. Have had it for years and it will haul WAY TO MUCH if your not careful. Always keeps my stuff dry, easy to strap to a tree in the woods, and hold all I need to carry and more.

You really can't go wrong with the extra money spent on a Drake product... I have hunted with mine for three years and haven't noticed a single thing wrong with it... still running strong... Think about all the expensive stuff you put in that bag... If you are like most of us, you probably have $100+ in calls in there not to mention the price of all the other stuff that adds up... if it rips in the field or in the water you are out a lot of money... not to mention the loss of any sentimental items, ie. bands or hand-me-downs from a dad or grandpa... Just some food for thought..

Not trying to high jack and change the subject but I wish icould say the same about their waders. Every other product I have if theirs has held up but I will never buy another pair of their waders

I've used the Drake shoulder bag for four seasons. It has held up better than expected. The bag is big enough to carry too much gear if you stuff it. It's decent on walk-ins.

I'd like to find a good backpack that's waterproof. Haven't seen any waterproof models.
