Blind Bag

I currently have an Avery Finisher Blind bag 13x8x8. This is a well made bag but things become a little cramped sometimes with extra gloves, shells, drinks, oatmeal pies etc. I am looking to upgrade size wise and was wanting suggestions: Specifically I have been looking at Drake Floating bag 18x11x10 $60 and Avery floating 17x10x10 $40; both are 900 denier poly. Any experience with these or other reccs appreciated. Thanks.

If you do much walking where you hunt, I found out last year Drake's backpack does great. Blind bags always seem to fall off my shoulder and sometimes ties up one of your hands. Put the backpacking and cut out

I got a 11x10 I thing thats what size it is. Or close to it anyway. It's more then planty of big for what I do. I never understood why ppl need a suitcase for a blind bag.Something you may want to look at I got one of the Primos duck hunters vest and I done got to where thats all I use for the most part.

i have 2... depends on where i'm hunting... drake floating bag is great. i don't know what else could be done to make it a better bag... but if i'm walking a long way, it's just not as easy to "pack" in to the spot. if i'm going by boat, atv/utv, or very short walks then this is what i use..

if not using my "blind bag" i will be using the drake backpack. i have the xl. usually when using this, i'm either hunting by myself or walking long distances. it will hold a dozen inflatables, and all of the "blind bag" necessities with room to spare. and it's a helluva lot easier to walk with it all on your back, and not hitting you in the back of the knees as you walk.

they are both great products. and i wouldn't hesitate to buy either again.

I received a Drake Backpack for Christmas last year and have enjoyed it. Lots of room to store just about anything. As for durability, have not had it long enough to say.

I am still guilty as heck for doing this in all hunting situations. I've been known to sit around the night before packing double redundant contingency items for every situation. I have started letting go of alot of that stuff. It has made my hunting alot easier. I'm going to put military ammo boxes in the pit this year to stash snacks, shells, and what not in. Pretty much try to get down to me, my clothes, and a gun will be all I have to carry.

Thanks for the suggestions, good comments by all. I have back pack style as well (not the filson, it sure is purty, but I'm too cheap) but most of mine will be via ATV/UTV so looking for something bigger, but not the suitcase. I have a 14 yo son who goes with me some, so I was trying to use 1 larger one instead of two smaller ones when needed. I'm leaning toward the drake floating since I do have some pirogue spots as well.

I do agree on 2 folks using 1 bag if you hunt together. Less junk to carry and it keeps everything centralized.

For me it just has to hold booty wipe ,snuff, coffee, and a stack of stag planks. Said items must stay dry or loose their effectiveness!

You really can't go wrong with the extra money spent on a Drake product... I have hunted with mine for three years and haven't noticed a single thing wrong with it... still running strong... Think about all the expensive stuff you put in that bag... If you are like most of us, you probably have $100+ in calls in there not to mention the price of all the other stuff that adds up... if it rips in the field or in the water you are out a lot of money... not to mention the loss of any sentimental items, ie. bands or hand-me-downs from a dad or grandpa... Just some food for thought..

.......make sure you get a floating bag.....insurance for the next time you dump your 4 wheeler in a ditch.....

Had the Drake floating bag for 3 seasons. It is great when using a boat or 4wheeler, but is horrible for walking as I assume most blind bags built the same way would be. I was worried about the plastic clips, but none have broken yet.
