Had to share

Postby DUCKAHOLIC » Tue Oct 09, 2012 9:09 am

Buck (my younguns nickname for those who do not know him) and I are very lucky, its not many times we go to the woods and do not see any deer.

Yesterday afternoon was one of those days that nothing showed. as we got to the truck I told him I was sorry we did not see anything. At the ripe old age of ten that kid said. "Dad it does not bother me when we do not see anything, just being in the woods and getting to be with you is a blessing...plus how many kids get to go to the woods during the week".

It choked me up so bad I had to walk to the back of the truck like I was packing our gear down. I may have not done everything right in my life.....but I am bringing up one hell of an outdoorsman.

That's the good stuff! Good for him, and kudos to you for the way you're bringing up your young man!

Thats good stuff. Congrats.

If it happens again (and it sounds like it will with the fine young fella), you can always fall back on the "I ate jalapenos for lunch and must have rubbed my eyes."

That is good stuff right there. If the good lord ever blesses me with a son I hope he gives me the strength to raise him like that. Sounds like you are doing one heck of a job as a dad and I am sure to him a hero.
