There is a rumor (substantiated by an ESPN article) Mathieu wants to stay at LSU, serve his 1 year suspension and play in 2013. I don't know if this is even possible (depends on whether this is truly a 1 year suspension or lifetime). One would have to believe this to be the 1 year suspension since he is eligible to play at FCS schools this year, but LSU has not specifically stated anything one way or the other.

If this is the case, it certainly could be great news for LSU in 2013 (if he can stay out of trouble) since they will likely lose a number of stud defensive players to the draft after this season.
