Eat as many lobster rolls as you can! They're awesome. We did the bus day tour. Very inexpensive and you see all the sites in one day. There are a couple to choose from. Boston Chowda company for soup. Also be careful on those dang rotaries when driving. They suck.

Got to check out Fenway. There is a bar/grill right behind stadium that's fun called the Cask n' Flagon.

Go to the south end, lots of good pizza joints there and clam chowder of course. Also take a look at the USS Constitution "Old Iron Sides" if you have time.

Outdoor market and hit the Old Italy district for some lunch...HATED Boston...yankee douchbags...Yall have fun

Boston has a lot of history. If you have a day free to enjoy the city, I recommend that you talk with your hotel concierge and arrange a tour. You can walk the "line" and see everything yourself, but it makes a big difference when you have a guide telling you all the details.

Legal Seafood is a great place to get Lobster Rolls and Chowder.
Atlantic Fish is very good for a fine meal.
Barking crab has good food and relaxed atmosphere.

North End has great Italian restaurants. Probably the best is a place called Lemoncellos. It is located next to the Paul Revere home. Ask for the pasta dish that was featured in Time Magazine and you will not be disappointed.

Actually just got back from Boston last week. Here is a list of things we did that i would suggest

1. Do the history tour. It is very easy to navigate on your own, but getting a guide is probably the best way to go. Your hotel can direct you were to start.
2. Go see the Boston Commons. It is a park, lake area in the center of town. Lots of cool historic landmarks and a very pretty.
3. Go to the Cheers Bar from the TV show. Yes it is touristy but to me it was worth seeing. Lots of places to shop and eat around that area too.
4. Go to Fenway. Even if there isnt a game going on. Lots of Bars, shops, things to do and see.
5. Too many good restaurants to list. Mr. Maliave was my favorite. It's downtown, has a really cool patio to eat outside, very old/historic.
6. By a 7 day subway pass. It is worth the money. Get's you to almost every location you will need to get to.
7. If there is a concert in the "Hatch" go see it. Very neat outdoor concert area right next to the St. Charles River.
8. Go to Cambridge and see Harvard. Plenty to do and see there and it is only a 20 minute subway ride.

That's all i can think of. We really enjoyed Boston. For a big city it wasn't overly crowded or busy, and we were there for 4th of July week.

Ride the bus and get dog cussed by a group of Southie 12 yr olds. Buck Foston, rudest people I've ever met. Don't care to go back, ever...

Take the walking tour called Freedom Trail...pretty neat thing with many of historic places: old north church, Bunker hill, tea party, etc


Take the T all over town: Get off at Government Center: eat at Union Oyster House, many other restaurants in the area and competition is fierce...I ate steak and lobster for less than $30. there are comedy clubs here, visit Fannuil Hall, shopping if thats your cup of tea, etc.

Go to Harvard and MIT

Go to Fenway and catch a game, awesome experience and since its so small, the only bad seat is behind one of the pillars(scaffolding) on lower deck.

Go out to Back Bay area

Regina Pizza in the North end, also sausage and peppers at a Sox game. Sam Adams brewery and the Harpoon brewery tour. Tour of Fenway if you aren't going to a game or even if you are. Ferry from Boston harbor out to the islands in the harbor, they have a state park and an old fort out there with a beach if you want to swim. Baseball Tavern, Cask and Flagon or Bleacher Bar are all fun places to grab a beer when you are around Fenway. Good advice by somebody on the 7 day pass for the T also. You can ride the T pretty close to anywhere you want to be in the city and most places are an easy walk. We have a great time up there avery year and are headed up in a couple of weeks to see a Tigers series. Black Rose in the Faneuil Hall area is a fun place to have a few Guinness and listen to the bartenders talk to you about your accent while they all speak with an Irish accent and you both try to figure out what each other is saying. If kids are going to be with you they will enjoy the aquarium.
