Looking good there, JD! Are those iron clay peas you're planting?

Re: Show us your habitat!
They are clay and iron peas. Checked them on Saturday. They are up about 2-3", the deer are already hitting them. Installed to plot rings to check grazing pressure. Corn is up as well, should all be up by we'd this week.
I'll post pics when I get to the office on Monday.

Re: Show us your habitat!
Here are a couple pics of our plots. The first is a couple acres of chufa we decided to try out this year, sprayed it for the first time with some 2-4DB yesterday. The second is milo with a little brown top mixed in, sprayed it with some Atrizine yesterday.

Re: Show us your habitat!
The brown top was left over and just thrown in there more as an afterthought. More concerned with keeping the sicklepod out of the milo. I am not sure that the atrazine will hurt the millet, anyone else got any input on this?
Re: Show us your habitat!
Looks good. I don't think your millet will survive the atrazine but I could be wrong.

Re: Show us your habitat!
here is a small update on the peas.
They are looking good, but have stopped growing due to the lack of rain. its really dry.
here is picture i thought was interesting.
we planted a few crab apple trees late, and we were watering them with some miracle grow.
these peas have out grown the others X3.
as soon as rain is in the forcast im gong to hit these peas with some 8-8-8 or 13-13-13

I've always loved reading this forum, but never remember to take photos to post. Here are a couple I have on my phone and I'll get some additional updates next weekend when I get back in delta. These two pictures were taken July 7th
22 acre impoundment (8 acres corn, 14 acres soybeans)

View from one of the two blinds in this inpoundment

Like I said, I'll get additional pictures next weekend. All in all we have two little sunflower fields (crappy looking sunflowers too might I add), a 10 acres corn/soybean field duck field, and 5 or 6 various corn or soybean plots planted for deer.

Re: Show us your habitat!
After the rains my old faithful barnyardgrass decided to make a show. The corn ears are just about finished and now I have this excellent stand of "God's millet" coming up all through the corn.

Laredo Forage Soybeans - Planted for both deer and ducks. They are a tough soybean. The deer can't stay ahead of them. Their seed doen't decay as fast as other soybeans, so they will persist longer into duck season.
Deer browse - still putting on growth

Field edge where browse pressure should readily apparent. They are holding up good.
