Face paint or not?

Postby crackhead » Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:46 pm

Jus curious how many will admit they use the stuff. With response please justify your answer.

I for one have duck hunted since I was 6 I'm 38 now so I have 32 season and thousands of days afield killed ducks all over the south and think its the dumbest shizzt the new duck generation do. I see lil punks in greenwood at 3 o'clock in the afternoon still wearing that on their face. Please explain the need to wear it let alone have it on in Wendy's eating a burger.

It is a requirement for opening day hunting with us, just because we decided it would be a fun tradition. Also, anytime hunting with my daughter Randi Jo you WILL get your face painted by her becasue she loves it. Does not matter what you are hunting. I paint my face while bow hunting every time because a mask fogs my glasses up and I ahve to have them to see the pins. Only paint it when duck hunting when I need my face covered. I always have wipes with me and wipe it off as soon as I get to truck.

Any time it's a tradition and not a fad I can go with that. There is a club in Arkansas named kingdom come that requires member and guest to since excistant.

Never used paint, or a mask. If you keep still, you don't need it. What I find funny is.someone that puts all that stuff on, then runs around the tree like a fox squirrel.

Go out 75-100 yards from blind and look back. All u can seed is faces and hands

Face mask or paint should is super important. There are many.days I've seen ducks not flare but not quite act right due to shiny faces. People can't control urge to look

Knowing when to look trumps wearing face paint. Looking in the water and listening are the keys to knowing your ducks.

Not worth me worrying about taking a chance and certainly not worth taking a chance on kids and guest. I wear mask and ask that all others do the same.

This should clear up the face paint or not question. This was a very serious dove hunt.

Personally I don't like either. I will wear a mask if I have somebody with me that will not quit looking. If I am with people who knows what's going on I usually wear nothing. That being said I keep 2 masks in a bag just in case. It's hard telling my 9 yo girl she has to wear one and I don't. She always asks why not so I just avoid the arguement and wear it.

That being said I will wear paint too. I have one guy that always wears it when the sun pops

Hunt long enough and you will figure out when you can look up and it will save A LOT of problems

I have never worn face paint for any kind of hunting but I don't understand why so many of y'all are bashing people that do. Y'all bash people for wearing face paint because they think it is cool, but yet many of you bash people for wearing face paint because it makes you cool to call them out. I will never make fun of someone for trying to conceal their self while hunting. Now I do understand why some people have a problem with seeing people wearing at 3 in the afternoon in the middle of town but don't bash someone because they post pics with them wearing paint in the blind.

I think lookin down when they circle over top and all you can hear is wings over the top is the most exciting part of a hunt. I can remember learning REAL quick that my dad didn't want me taking a peek at the birds while they were working close.

We hunt paintless.

I started at age 14. I wore a mask religiously until my mid 20's. It's all about knowing when to look and when not to.

I prefer taking a handful of mud and rubbing it on my face instead of face paint. I got the idea from Rambo First Blood. Mud is a lot cheaper than face paint and it's one less thing you have to remember to put in your blind bag.
