I just built a lean to over my patio last month it is also 14 x 10...if u use metal roofing u dont have to have very much slope at all...u can flash it between the shingles an metal an wont have to worry about leaks...it made a huge difference in the looks of my patio... And finally made use of the slab that was once too hot to sit on...i used all treated lumber...6x6 post...mainly for look...2x6 raftors...2x8..beams on outside of lean to...and used painted metal...basically everything was best I could get and I had about $350 in all materials...and done it in 2 afternoons after work...
ENJOY LIFE, THERES PLENTY OF TIME TO BE DEAD..

Build a pergola. It would look great on the back of your home. If your budget would allow, build the structure out of rough cut cedar. Just my $.02

Pergola is what I want but the wife thinks they are stupid. She want to be able to sit out there when it is raining. We have a 19 month old that wants to be outside all the time so I need a covered outside space.DuckDeke wrote:Build a pergola. It would look great on the back of your home.
