Finally put one down

I finally got one down saturday morning and was fortunate to have champ with me behind the call and camera. Things worked out perfect and he was dead at 6:53. I couldn't have asked for a better hunt. Always looking forward to another trip into the pines.

Must be going around. My son killed one with beard rot the other day.

I have never heard of beard rot, but if that is what that is, the one I killed last week had it too. he only had about five strands left that were over 4 inches long. I didn't know if that meant he was old or young. I watched him in a field and heard gobble late in the day the day before I killed him, and it was like a whisper, but when he gobbled at about 25 yds out the next morning it was like thunder. Can they actually gobble till they're hoarse?
