17 K's on Friday night against LSU. The kid is a beast. Hate we only took 1 of 3 from them but its better than nothing. Injuries have killed us but the youngins taking their place will get some good experience.

That was absolutely unbelievable. His stuff was incredible.
Not to rain on the parade but I honestly think LSU couldn't hit their way out of a paper bag this year. However Stratton stole the show from Gausman who didn't have a bad night either.

Strat threw 146 pitches..
That's a lot of pitches for a game in march

State is gonna have a really good season, especially once they get healthy. I could see a Super Regional or even CWS run for them if they get healthy coupled with the invaluable experience that the young dogs are getting right now. Cohen's teams really compete.
I was proud of LSU for taking two of three from State. I am very concerned with only scoring 8 runs total in three games over the weekend though. When LSU plays Arkansas, Florida or USCe, they may not score a run over the weekend. There is an old belief that you either have pitching or you don't, but hitting can come along as the season progresses. I honestly don't know the LSU has the talent to hit much better than they are currently. I think Jacoby Jones has the ability to really turn it on (he cannot hit a breaking ball though). Austin Nola could play better offensively...but that is about it. I think everyone else is playing at about capacity.
I stand by my prediction that LSU finishes the regular season about 50/50 in league play, maybe a little worse.

This team is basically last year's team without Mahtook. Last year's team did not make it to a regional or the SEC Tourney.msudawg8087 wrote:Delta for some reason I thought Mahtook(sp?) was comin back for you guys.
