Haven't called either of these in yet, but other reward band I killed few years ago had all of the green worn off and was only still visible in the numbers on the band.

That one was banded by a friend of mine in Thunder Bay, Dan Bascello. I've killed several of his birds. That's how we met.

I killed a Greenwing banded in NoDak in 2010 this year and a Blue goose from Nunavut, Canada that was banded in 2009. Only the second year since 1963 that I haven't killed a banded Mallard.

that's awesome! i've never killed one. a buddy of mine shot this one. it was his first band. thought that was a a decent time period for a teal, but i don't know much about the age of ducks and those type things.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

They can live a pretty long time in spite of everything on the planet wanting to kill and eat them. Dan bands quite a few Greenwings and Bluewings and his son bands in Sask., Canada and I killed one of his Bluewings in Mexico several years ago. I think I've killed 9 or 10 of his Mallards that he has banded at Thunder Bay.

Sufice to say it has been a significant number from 50 years of waterfowl hunting. Hope that doesn't ruin your day.
