Alabama led all SEC schools with 38 football players from its 2011 national championship team on the SEC Honor Roll (3.0 avg or better).

Still fact checking, but this may be an all-time SEC record. If so, just another record in the books.

Not exactly Rice - among the list are many, many starters. Including a guy named Trent Richardson.

Just looked it up - 38 received the award. 12 of those are pure starters. Guys like Barrett Jones, Mark Barron, DJ Fluker, Brad Smelley, Marquiz Maze. 12 that will all play on Sundays. Not to mention back-ups and true frosh that made the list. Some, but not many are indeed walk-on type players.

Sure does help Alabama's recruiting even more.
